The good, the bad & the honest review… GOLF - The different themes and courses are awesome and a lot of fun! We had a great time and the scoring was a snap! This place is so well decorated! So much to see and look out for. Library - Amazing decor and immerse theme and trickier course, of the three. Linda was very helpful. Garage- Excellent themed room! Really fun! A bit easier than Library. Tyrone was very helpful. Lodge - Theme was nice but simpler than other two. Very chilly. Much easier than other courses. DRINKS- I had two drinks and they were terrific. I can’t remember what they were called but they were the drink special of the “Garage” course. It was a rum, pineapple, mint and lime drink and it was refreshing and tasty! FOOD- The Poke bowl was VERY GOOD! My son said the burger was cooked well and he enjoyed it! The mini desserts were a little disappointing, the chocolate brownie one being very good and the key lime one was terrible. I love love love key lime pie/cake but this one had a sour flavor that we both wouldn’t touch after taking two bites. The apple pie empanada dessert was good but was cold - it seems like a dessert that would be warm. SERVICE - Seriously lacking! Ignored by multiple servers. Had to go to the bar to request to order. We also had to check to see where our food was after waiting quite a while. It was not that busy. We went to the second floor to order dessert and the bartender was there by the back door with his back to us. I tried nicely to get his attention and then my son politely coughed. He was watching something on his phone and we ended up going downstairs to see if we could order there. I couldn’t find a server for several minutes. We went towards the front and found two servers by the elevator. We asked where was the best place to order dessert and apparently we interrupted two servers discussing whatever unpleasant issue was going behind the scenes. They decided which of them would take us and honestly we just felt like a bother. :( The coffee was lukewarm and again, I had to ask if I could please have cream and sugar. Also, we were asked to pay (and tip) prior to getting the food. Like, what? The server just disappeared! Also, it is expensive. Just be prepared, if you are going to drink and get food. This place seemed a bit nice so we already knew going in but wow - it did add up! 😅 I would have probably given the review a 4 but honestly the service was soooo disappointing. :( My hope is they just had a...
Read moreHad a great time with my family here! So first thing we stopped into get an idea on prices, food options etc & we told the man & women at the front counter that we wanted to just get info they were very helpful and nice ( we've dealt with people before that don't treat you the same if your "window shopping" as a customer who comes in ready to go) we paid for the "all you can putt" so we had access to all 3 rooms (each has a unique theme & none are your stereotypical windmill mini golf) before we played we wanted to eat so we had the option of sitting in the restaurant area or outside of there throughout the building they have a few 2 person tables (with the nice hanging egg chairs to sit it) so you can sit at those tables or they have these great small rooms(that open for anyone to take a seat/table) they have 2 small bar tables that can sit 4 each & a love seat & 2(like living furniture) nice comfortable chairs. It has a great private vibe that at most you share with another few people. The food was a little pricey for the amount of food given (got an order of the sliders of like kobi beef or something similar that are almost $30 & you only get 2) but that & all the food we got while being more $ then it should be for the portion the food was good. No complaints on any of the 3 meals & apps we got except it was a little to expensive for the actual plate of food (the only thing that I will say $ & portion that was worth it. Are the pizza options we were very happy with the price of the pizza/size of the pizza it wasn't the stupid pan pizza that's only 4 mini slices. Everyone got a slice & took a to go box) the mini golf was great having the 3 separate rooms allows for people to spread out throughout the building so you don't feel rushed with people waiting behind you etc. Each room also has its own very different feel to it (on the library course my son had just as much fun looking all over for the " secret doorway" he thought there was if you'd move a certain book or touch a certain statue lol he didn't find one but was excited to come back again & try looking/moving other books etc) point being each room really allows for kids to have fun mini golfing but also experiencing the "world" created...
Read moreThe Puttery. What a place. I went in expecting a standard day of gimmicky putt-putt and overpriced drinks, and instead I left feeling like I had somehow gamed the system at a Vegas casino. The reason? One word: Linda.
Linda is not your average receptionist. She’s not just the person who scans your ID and points vaguely toward the first tee. No — Linda is the benevolent gatekeeper of fun, the champion of the common golfer, the fairy godmother of mini golf. From the second we walked in, she greeted us with the kind of warmth you’d expect from an old friend who hasn’t seen you in years. Except instead of a hug, she handed us an absolute deal of a lifetime.
Normally, you’d be shelling out $18 for the privilege of playing just one course. Linda? She looked at us, smiled, and said: “How about all three courses for $15?” All three. For less than the price of one. At first, I thought this had to be some sort of scam or an elaborate prank show. But then she dropped the real bombshell: we could stay the entire day, until closing. Leave, come back, play again. No questions asked.
I don’t think you understand. Most places would sooner charge you double for asking if you could leave and re-enter. But Linda practically begged us to treat Puttery like our personal playground. Want to play a round, grab some tacos elsewhere, then swing back for more putts? Go ahead. Want to take a nap, hit the gym, maybe file your taxes, and then return later in the evening? Totally fine. In Linda’s world, there is no time limit on joy.
The mini golf itself? Fantastic. The courses are clever, well-designed, and have just enough quirkiness to keep you laughing between shots. But the truth is, I could’ve been putting into soup cans on a shag carpet and still had a great time — because Linda had already set the tone.
So here’s the bottom line: if you want a forgettable night out, go somewhere else. If you want to feel like you just hacked reality and got handed an all-access pass to fun by a woman who deserves her own statue out front, go to Puttery. And pray that Linda is...
