Let me start by saying, I emailed the restaurant via their website explaining that I'd rather let them know about our experience privately instead of leaving a negative review because I didn't know the circumstances of the particular night we were there. However, it's been over a week and no acknowlegement of my email, so I will now leave my public review. We made reservations for 5:30 for a table of 4, figuring we had enough time for a 7:30 show at the nearby Colonial Theater. The place was not busy when we arrived, one larger group and a few couples, but got extremely busy as time passed. This place was severely understaffed. Two waitresses waiting on tables and bartending. When the waitress did come around she was so quick you couldn't say anything before she was gone again. Ordered 2 appetizers, one came that wasn't what we ordered. Flagged down waitress and got our correct appetizer (still got charged at the end for the one we didn't order). Dinner took over an hour to come out. Not impressive at all. At this point, the chef's son was who brought us our food. One entree was missing the asparagus. He went and checked on it and was told that the first ordered was burnt and a second order was being cooked. When that came out, it was hard. Other entrees had veggies and potatoes that were inconsistently cooked (some hard, some cooked). Had to flag down the waitress for our check while my husband was still eating and cancel our third round of drinks because they never came and we had to leave for the show. Ended up making it to the show just as it started. Great atmosphere, poor service, food not the best (although my short rib was very tasty!). I was hoping for a great experience, but needless to say, we will not be back as we feel the $200 plus that we spent was not worth the experience we had at all. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. It could have been an off night for whatever reason, but we won't be giving it a...

The restaurants decor is lovely and the servers are friendly. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich and the meat was so thick and undercooked. When he bit into the sandwich I saw pink juices come out of the chicken. It was still raw!!! Once my husband alerted the server, he began to make every excuse for the pink color of juices. Granted the slaw on the sandwich was red, I watched the chicken ooze pink juices. My husband was mortified by the texture and temperature of the chicken so it wasn’t just the fact that the juices came out pink. The server said he can guarantee the chicken is not undercooked, which makes no sense because he didn’t cook it nor did he eat it. It just seemed defensive and there was no reason for that. My husband told him he did not want a replacement and that he understands it was no fault of the server. The server took the plate and came back with our bill immediately. Then we notice the chicken sandwich is still on the bill!!!!! So my husband goes and asks why he is still being charged for the sandwich and he was told they can’t take it off because the sandwich wasn’t uncooked. The best they could do was give half off the sandwich. We didn’t have time or energy to argue so we paid and left. Not to mention my daughters chicken tenders were tough and just not appetizing. I really think the restaurant was having a “bad chicken” day. Idk. We left so upset and had to get food from somewhere else. The bartender was sweet and bubbly and she was the highlight to a very bad...

We went in for breakfast since our local favorite was closed for memorial day. We discovered after getting our plates that ALL THE FOOD WAS COLD. The bacon, sausage, French toast and especially the eggs were all cold! When we went to address our concerns, the only person there explained that the food was out since 6:30, and if he turned up the heat, the food would've dried up. Mind you, they were steam tables! You really can't go wrong! Anyhow he offered us direct from the kitchen more food. He served us hot eggs and potatoes which were much better. But then a curious thing happened. He came out with new pans of eggs and something else. Knowing our concerns, he brazenly [mixes the hot food with the cold food]. After seeing that? I was done. I told the other hotel guests the food was cold, and that he was bringing out more, but didn't expect him to mix the food together! The bill came to just over 14.00. The experience was horrible, and will take my dollars elsewhere. The food wasn't...

I recently dined at 101 Restaurant and Bar, and overall, the experience was just okay. The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were friendly, but there were some issues with the food. I tried the fried green tomatoes, but they were served as red tomatoes instead, resulting in a dish that was watery and soggy, lacking the crispness and flavor that comes with green tomatoes. If they had run out of green tomatoes, or were going to make this change, I would have appreciated being let know, so I could decide whether or not I still wanted to order this dish or choose something else. Additionally, the salad was enjoyable, but it had too little dressing. Our server, who was very nice, promptly brought more upon request. However, the additional dressing appeared to be thinned out with milk or water, which diluted the flavor compared to the initial serving.

First time at 101 was 4 weeks ago when we arrived to our hotel and discovered it on the 2nd floor. The 40oz ribeye caught our eyes on the specials menu. It did not disappoint!!! This thing was a hunk of delicious meat and nothing short of that. Great peppercorn sauce and delicious sides, mashed taters and grilled veggies. This think it no joke, make sure you eat lightly leading up to this glorious meal, you’ll need the stomach space! We returned to canada and told stories of this legendary steak. Needless to say, we drove down again today to go for round 2, and it was just as marvellous as the first time.

I attended a wedding at the Holiday Inn a couple weeks ago and the food was done by 101. The chef, and I believe owner, John went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten restriction. Not only assuring me that my main course would be gluten free but he went out of his way and made one of the appetizers on gluten free toast just for me so I could enjoy it too. All the food was amazing and delicious, but even more importantly for me was the kindness and care John took in making sure my food was gluten free. Highly recommend, especially if you cannot have gluten. He understands.
