Last night 3 of my bestie's & I headed down to Cappelli Wines on Main St in Placerville for a tasting flight. We were warmly greeted by Tracy who did a wonderful job of describing the concept behind Cappelli Wines. Marco Cappelli makes vineyard-specific varietal wines that are intended to be drunk young. He's able to offer these at a very affordable price. He follows the Italian model of bringing your own bottles to fill up @ the wine shop with your preferred wine. They can also sell you a bottle of your choice that you can re-fill over & over. The tasting flight consists of 6 different wines. All of the wines were well crafted & characteristic of the grape varietal they represent. At this time, they are offering tasting flights for the incredible bargain of $5.00 per person. The tasting room asthetic is like stepping into a piece of Italy. You can also join Cappelli's Wine Club for $40.00 a month which includes 4 bottles of wine & a handsome carrying case that you continue to re-use. We absolutely love capelli! We are members and often pop in for a wine tasting. Stacy who works most days we come in is absolutely incredible.
