We happened into Old Town Grill yesterday while wandering about Placerville for apples and other fun. We were thrilled to see the sign out front that we could eat on the back patio and that doggies were allowed! Staff was attentive and happy when we walked in and ordered. They had no problem making sure food allergens were avoided with our order. As we started back to head to the patio, John the owner greeted us from the grill and thanked us for coming in. We found painted rocks in a bin, similar to that of our author friend Patti Digh, which brought a smile to our faces. Our food came out quickly, staff checked back with us several times, offering to refill our beverages and checking on our satisfaction with the food. Other than a loud party of guys who seemed to have to yell their entire conversations, the meal was great (they left soon after our meal was served). Our burgers were delicious, made to the order we asked and were filling and tasty. Everyone wore masks, keep compliant with customers not touching community items except as needed and the staff were pleasant. On our way out, John thanked us for our patronage. Really folx, this is a small town grill that stays alive because we come in to eat. Go get a GREAT meal from a local who understands what small town is like and who understands customer service. You can eat at Mickey D's anytime in any location, you're not going to get an Old Town Grill anywhere else. Thanks John and crew, stopping in for a meal helped to make our...
Read moreA friend and I plus our two girls came in for lunch this afternoon. This was my first visit here and I was honestly a bit overwhelmed by the menu selection because everything sounded delicious; we probably stood there for a good ten minutes before we decided on what to order! I ordered the Beast Burger with a side of grilled veggies and my daughter got a Small Cheeseburger with a side of fries and we shared a Strawberry Malt, while our friends ordered a Chicken Dijon Sandwich and her daughter got a John Studebaker's Wheel and they shared a Mint Chip Milkshake. Both of us were super satisfied with our orders and had no leftovers (except our kids). 😅 Everything came out hot and all at once. Before we even finished our meals, a server came by to give us all a complimentary piece of chocolate or cookie! The service was impeccable from the second we walked through the door to the moment we stepped back outside, and every single employee was so friendly, personable and helpful. The atmosphere was definitely fitting of its name, whimsically themed and well-kept. We chose the window seats so we could people-watch, but there was more seating in the back area with a wall heater burning hot (it was a really cold day). There's even a birdcage that usually contains a parrot but sadly it wasn't there today. We will definitely be back here again...
Read moreThis place is quaint and has really good food. We got there when it opened to ensure they would not be sold out of elk burgers. Hubby got the elk burger. It was really good, not over-cooked and good size. I ordered the burger le Paz. It had onions and Ortega chili's, but was sold out. Ended up ordering the soul burger that came with slice hot link on it. It was real good, but I think next time I will be specific to leave some pink in the middle. My burger was a little over done for me. We also ordered the snow shoes which were waffle fries with blue cheese crumbles and chili oil. Were really good. Hubby ordered a vanilla shake and that was not too thick that couldn't use a straw. Really good! We also got a cup of the clam chowder and that was the best! Homemade and so flavorful. Should have gotten a bowl! They have dining in our outside seating and the service was outstanding! Will be back. Hopefully they will have the other...
