Stopped in yesterday on a cold, rainy day to find a comfortable warm room and amazing food. The owner sat us and our little ones down at one of the large tables and brought our toddler a coloring book, crayons, and some toys that kept him happy while we looked over the menu and tended to babies with us. Everyone was extremely kind to us, especially the bar tender in the connected saloon that stands where the old hanging tree once stood. My wife and her chatted for a while about some of the history and I highly recommend everyone looking at the 100yo painting of what the town used to look like, including the famous tree. We ordered two of the pasta dishes, one burger, and my little ones and I shared absolutely loaded potato wedges. Everything was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The main reason we visited was to cover some of the history of Placerville for our podcast and we were very pleased that not only did we get to learn more firsthand , but we also got a memorable meal. Read moreCute little spot in Placerville, owner operated and nice menu. Not shown in the pictures was an amazing wedge salad that we split. It was so big we could have shared half of one, every bite was delicious. Crisp fresh iceberg lettuce with homemade blue cheese dressing . Bacon crumbles. It's a yummy great starter. Hubby had Fish n chips fried perfectly and fresh, and the Tarter sauce is housemade and quite delicious. The Special was a PB&J burger w/ habanero jelly ,peanut butter, fried onions strings, bacon, and cheddar(?)cheese . I had chosen sweet potato fries nom nom. The burger & bacon was a bit on the well side for me but lots of people like it cooked that way , I just prefer a medium on a burger & will ask for it next time I come. Which i hope we will soon the staff is very friendly and more yummy things to try on the menu next time we are in...
Read moreService was so slow. We waited almost 15 minutes to be greeted at our table, we almost left. Just two of us and our drinks came out at least 5 minutes apart, and so did our food. Server actually had my drink in her hand, stopped to chat with the people at the end of the bar for a couple minutes instead of just bringing it straight out to me. My friend ordered a sandwich but wanted to substitute yellow mustard instead of beer mustard... they brought it to her dry with the bottle of yellow mustard on the side- that's pretty lame service for a $20 sandwich. The large Ceasar for $15 didn't feel different or special. The music was 90s r&b break up songs which was not a fun vibe. It was my first time in, and wont...
