NWB Next Whiskey Bar Plainfield — Restaurant in Plainfield

A friend and I came here at about 430 pm. on a Thursday. The atmosphere alone was awesome! It wasn't too packed. However, that was going to change very soon. The servers were on time and always took care of us each time, coming back with a smile on their face. The food was so delicious that it has made a new spot in my heart. The chicken and waffles sandwich will go down as one of the best things I have eaten! The waffles and the perfect crispness to that helped retain its shape and get become soggy or flimsy. The flavor was out of this world, and we did tell the waitress to offer our regards to the chef. They also had a grilled cheese and tomato soup burger, I believe it was, as one of their specials. Again! The flavor combination was packed and made you not want to stop eating. This was a messy burger, though, so be prepared to either have a lot of napkins or not put it down. I generally chose the latter option, haha. For drinks, we ordered 2 whiskey sours and by the best I have ever had. I then had the white Russian, and he had something hibiscus, which had an amazing flavor profile. As it was time to go, the place was packed, and cars had to turn around in the parking lot. Mind you, this is 530/545 now. Be sure to arrive there or wait, which is something I would have no problem doing.

All in all, I will contiueing to tell friends, family, and anyone else to come here for themselves and see how they like it. I myself will be back and hope to enjoy another amazing dinner!...

Our server Tim, was extremely pushy and rude!! We were with a young kid (5) and asked for things on the side and he made it seemed as if the were extremely difficult for him.... mind you ive worked for a resturant in my past for 10 years so im well aware while its not convient it definitely can be done! If we didn't know immediately or were debating what we wanted he'd walk away and say he'll be back even if the other half or our party wanted something. When specific requests were needed he would make snark remarks like when I asked for a different bun (I'm pregnant and have gestational diabetes- diabetes caused by pregnancy) I joked the baby has given me diabetes and I have to be careful and he said "oh thats why you have it huh?" as if there was another reason to blame for it! Which was extremely offensive!!! I got the side salad with my burger and it came with cheese and if you're pregnant you're not suppose to have goat or feta cheese and some kind of cheese came on the side salad and regardless ate it because I wasn't about to "bother" Tim as that is exactly how he made it seem! So now Im currently not feeling good and praying its not listeria because of my fear to ask for a salad with no cheese! I've been to NWB in plainfield and lisle and never have had such experience before... I know being a server is no simple task but to make someone who is so forgiving of this industry I just couldn't understand why he took this job if anything we asked was...

I'll start with this, I decided to visit local restaurants each evening prior to yet another shutdown because I realize people depend on their jobs and this craziness has nothing to do with anything they did. I sat at the bar as I was alone, waited patiently and finally got waited on, no warm or friendly welcome. Ordered fries and what I was served were old fries reheated under a heat lamp, really! I asked for my meal to be ordered when the fries came out, well that didn't happen. I sat there watching others around me being waited on while I was ignored with the exception of the bar back, he was a young man and went well out of his way to make sure to check on me. In any case, after another 15 minutes without any service from either bartender I cancelled my order, asked for my check. I left $20 for a $17.30 bill, when I left I ran into the bar back and tipped him $10, he was estacic and asked why the generous tip, simply said because I appreciate his service. This is the second time I've experienced terrible service a yet another NWB so must be a training or lack thereof issue, anyway I'm confident they won't make it, for sure they won't see me again! Thank you for nothing, so much for me trying to help support...
