This was the most disappointing experience I've ever had tonight. Ordered plain noodles, asked for rigatoni instead of spaghetti, and again - plain without the garlic because of an allergy. The waitress correctly told the kitchen staff. They sent out spaghetti drowning in garlic. As our waitress sat the plate down she realized it was wrong and stated "Oh my gosh! This was supposed to be rigatoni! And plain! Right? No garlic?" My husband and I agreed. She returned with a plate of rigatoni....drowning in garlic. My husband said "They still put garlic all over the noodles." Our waitress looked terrified and said "Oh no... do they have to be without?" We told her yes, due to an allergy. She looked defeated and went back to the kitchen. And then, from the opposite side of the restaurant you can hear a woman literally screaming at our waitress "Are you serious?!! What else does she want??!! Or will we have to make it all again?! Seriously? Plain noodles? Who is she?!" Our waitress was calm and you could hear her speaking loud enough to be heard over the screaming, that she had in fact told the kitchen to make plain rigatoni noodles without garlic. The other woman kept berating her in the UGLIEST tone of voice. Tables around us stopped talking and turned towards the kitchen. Our defeated waitress came out and said in a squeaky voice "Um...they said it's going to take them at least 2 minutes to remake your noodles since they're all cold." (Did they plan on washing the garlic off of the already cooked ones?...Are you kidding?) My husband and I looked at each other, and then to his extremely soggy overcooked farfalle, and requested the check because we weren't going to stay. Our waitress looked mortified and kept apologizing profusely. I told her we weren't upset with her but would not tolerate a cook or owner (she refused to state who the woman was) belitting their staff & loudly complaining about a customer like that. She went to the back to get our check. A skinny woman with black hair popped out from the back, yelling once again at the waitress, "Who is she?!! Which one?! They're just going to leave?! Which one is she??!" Then stared right at me! Damn right I made eye contact. She quickly scurried back into her hole in the kitchen and never once came out to our table. Our waitress kept apologizing. If the woman with black hair was the owner, shame on you for speaking to employees that way. And how embarrassing for you to not have the courage to come apologize after the entire dining room heard you...especially after making eye contact. Something tells me you behave this way all the time. Disrespectful. We will NEVER return to or recommend this place. If the waitress sees this - you deserve SO much better. Don't ever let someone speak to you that way again. Tonight was not your fault. You were polite, fast, and attentive. I hope you find a place that...
Read moreMia's is spectacular. I have had many calzones between West Texas and the East coast, and the East Coast calzones are by and large the best. The absolute closest you're going to get to a flavored and textured East Coast calzone is here at Mia's! They're ham and ricotta calzone is just like something you would order at a mom-and-pop shop in Pennsylvania or New York, and it's incredible! Both the calzone and a stromboli are generously filled cooked with a wonderful crunchy and well flavored yeast-based dough and crust with a light coating of a delicate butter garlic. These both came out piping hot!
The cheese sticks were well sized and generously portion, but the bruschetta is by and large an absolute star of their appetizer menu. Generous amounts of tomato basil and onion with a olive oil and balsamic dressing. You could absolutely make that a meal on its own!
I have not had a cannoli just yet, because I am quite in love with their chocolate mousse cake! A fair slice, very rich yet very light. On my next visit I plan on getting pasta and the cannoli!!
All the staff were incredibly prompt, incredibly kind and stayed on top of any refills or extra needs. The food came out with great rapidity and we're all hot and accurate. Seating in here is very comfortable and open air.
It is such a bright spot for Italian food in the middle of West texas, you absolutely should make the...
Read moreWe ordered pizza through the slice app from here a few weeks ago. It was hands down the best pizza we have found in this town. Absolutely awesome! It was so fast as well (12 minutes from order to delivery).
We decided to try the rest of the menu and headed to the restaurant.
The decor was dated, but it was tidy. The one thing that always impresses me is cloth napkins. I was impressed to see that they were using cloth instead of paper napkins.
The other thing I didn't know about was that its BYOB. I wasn't aware so be advised.
We ordered the brushetta. It was good, but we didn't know it had onions. My husband hates onions. They were large enough that we just picked them out.
I ordered the eggplant parm and he got the chicken parm. Both were very, very good. Their marinara sauce is outstanding! I was eating it straight from the bowl that we requested to dip the bread in.
Overall. It was a very nice visit. Doris, Our server was very attentive and quick with refills or offerings of bread. We will definitely be back for...
