I don’t know where to begin 4 people in the last 3 weeks died at this facility including. My mother. They don’t have a front desk checking and taking temps and having people sign in. My mom contracted the flu and died from complication’s from it last Thursday. The Spanish staff told me if you could take your mom else where would be better than here. Unexplained bruises and when she could communicate she would tell me terrible things were happening to her . Verbal abuse when the CNA would have to charge her diaper . She only wanted women to change her because she said the male CNA would be so rough in changing her and touching her inappropriate. They never answer the call button. It smells like urine 24-7. The food was terrible with bones in the meat. Food would always be late and cold. The new management won’t hire a front desk and they at one point had the code to get in posted on the front door. So much for security for the residents. Always short staffed and residents don’t get out of bed if short staffed. Couple weeks ago the state was there doing a yearly inspection. They sure were at attention while they were there but everything went back to how it was once they left. They fractured my moms ankle while placing her in her wheel chair. This place needs to be closed permanently for Poor care of residents and nursing home neglect. Her nurse Vee during the week was the only peace of mind that I had knowing she would care for her. She always informed me of my mothers health changes. The weekend nurses that were there working temporarily from agency were great too but the full time staff doesn’t care. The front admin doesn’t communicate with the back. They constantly lose her clothing not to mention her partial . I would ask them to help her brush her teeth but I could see it wasn’t being done. I was constantly replacing her clothing. My mom is in a better place now in heaven. God...
Read moreI would recommend NOT placing yourself or your loved one at this facility. I'm not even sure where to begin. First, when we moved my mother-in-law here, we let the facility know that she was in Medicaid pending status and would soon be receiving Medicaid. They stated this was fine however when we filled out the paperwork, we feel they pulled a "good cop, bad cop" type of stunt. A woman enters in the middle of our meeting, sits down and rudely tells us that she will need to private pay until she's approved and that Medicaid will reimburse her. I told her if she (my mother-in-law) could afford to private pay, that she wouldn't have applied for Medicaid in the first place. So she leaves and another woman tells us that all will be okay and to basically not listen to the first lady.
Next is the call button. We had her push her button while we were visiting one evening. Two hours later someone responds. My MIL tells me that this is not an uncommon occurrence.
My MIL is confined to bed and not able to get out of it on her own. She let us know that 3 days went by before someone assisted her with brushing her teeth. We have also discovered that they have not even been helping her to get up at all during the day and instead, just leave her lying in bed. This is after they assured us they would get her up as part of their practice and after we have asked them repeatedly to do so.
Then yesterday we get an email from her dialysis facility to advise us that The Park is sending my MIL to her dialysis appointments with a soiled diaper. So in other words, they are sending her off soiled, knowing that she will be sitting at dialysis for 3 hours in her own feces.
Needless to say we are going to move her as soon as we can find another facility. DADS will probably also get a call from me to report neglect. Steer clear...
Read moreDO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE, EVER!!!!! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH. AT ALL COSTS -- DON'T! Hire a private nurse, take them somewhere else, just don't take them here. Do what you need for you loved one to keep them safe, because taking them here is NOT safe. The place smells like urine. I called them out on 2 occasions for not properly documenting medication they were giving my mother. Who knows how many other times it occurred. My mother was medicaid pending -- the director tried to trick me into signing documents to take financial responsibility. When I told him no and told him why, he tried to tell me that I would not be financially responsible... even though the document verbiage was plain as day, that I would be responsible. There were multiple nurses my mother was afraid of, one of them actually showed aggression towards me in front of the director. So I have no doubt there's employees there who are questionable in moral. On the last day of my mother's life, they didn't call me to tell me she was acting differently, which she obviously was. I barely made it there after work to find the state she was in. When my mother passed the director didn't utter a word to me, but up until that point tried to pretend he was the most caring sincere person in the world. He even at one point had suggested taking out a life insurance policy on my mother. As well as using her credit cards. Most nursing homes are questionable in nature period. But, The Park in Plano goes beyond questionable and takes it to sickening.
By the way, don't be fooled by the positive reviews left...
