(NOTE: Visited here 09.21.23, review is based on this date. The review is written to entertain, but it is absolutely genuine. This restaurant is so awful, please spare yourselves)
Possibly the worst restaurant in the DFW area. If you're thinkin' about blowin' your hard-earned cash at this disaster zone of a restaurant, think again. I wouldn't wish this culinary travesty on my worst enemy, and that's saying something.
First off, the bloody plates. They were so poorly cleaned they were actually sticky. Sticky as a theater floor after a midnight showing of some subpar rom-com. And don't get me started on the green stains underneath. Greenish yellow stains beneath every single plate? Don’t even want to know what that was.
Then, the menu. A measly, limited setup with about as many meat options as a vegan convention. One kabab per person? Is this a restaurant or a rationing station?
And dear god, the oil! Even BP would look at that and go, "Eh, maybe that's too much." Oily as a used car salesman. The gyro was more lipid than meat.
After eating, I felt like I'd been hit by a freight train, but instead of splattering all over the tracks, I was just left with nausea for hours. I’m nauseous as I write this very review, I’ll be a lucky man if I’m spared food poisoning.
Let's talk about the price, shall we? 18 bucks for what I can only describe as a gastronomic hate crime. Most other places around here you can eat like a king for 14. But not here, no sir. Felt like a highway robbery without the courtesy of a mask.
The desserts, if you can call them that, were a joke. Store-bought cookies and some sort of sludge that tasted like it had been scraped off the bottom of the East River. One bite and I was done. I wrapped it in a tissue and set it aside.
Look, save your time, money, and gastrointestinal tract and go to a decent spot like Shahrzad Mediterranean Market & Grill, Shish Kabob Cafe, Kasra, BBQ King, honestly anywhere. There's no lack of good places out there.
As for this? Wouldn't feed their ‘buffet’ to a starving stray. How this joint has a 4.7 rating is beyond me. Saazish in the back.
Don't be a mug. Avoid this place like the...
Read moreWorst Turkish food ever!!! Stay Away I cant believe this place actually got 4.8 out of 5 sad to tell you this place should be labeled under indian. You are giving Turkish cuisine bad reputation specially the joke u call buffet for $13 so let me sum it up for you people... He has a salad bar assortment, although it has most of the Mediterranean appetizers ( humus, baba G, pickled veggie and cabbage...etc) they don’t taste as good as the real Turkish mezza and not even close to the worst hole in the wall resturant in Turkey!! Also, you have 2 options for soups; Lentil & spicy shredded chicken soup. For the main course options u have beef & chicken stew so spicy it makes u wondering that something must be wrong with the protein as they are hiding the foul smell/taste bu making it so spicy as well as the beef/chicken kebabs which is also very chewy. You also have cold medium spicy wings and un appetizing potato wedges. Oh i almost forgot, the rice is another story by itself its by far the worst cooked rice in the whole world as its clunky like Chinese rice and drips oil with no taste like eating uncooked dough OMG it was beyond bad! To finalize this Turkish food is so delicious and full of taste and spices but this place is just pure hot spices! I still cant believe the 4.8 rating this place got and i wont be like Mr.Trump and call it fake news, or fake reviews lol, but this has no relation to Turkish food. this is longest review i have written so far and this should tell u something!! If you want to eat good Turkish food and compare there is other places in the dfw you can try and you see how right my review is! I still cant get over the fact that i actually wasted my time & money...
Read moreA very nice hole-in-the-wall restaurant with a welcoming owner and welcoming ambience in a clean looking and relatively small area.
There's several types of buffet/all -you-can-eat restaurants and this one has a smaller variety but above average taste. I primarily ate the meat-centric food along with some of the veggies but there's also a small amount of fruit and dessert so my opinion is a bit limited in that regard.
The wings can be had lightly seasoned (standard) and spicy (upon request) and I only sampled the former. The wings are flavorful and moist and although that was a bit surprising it was certainly a welcome one. The limited veggies I've tried tasted fresher than the average buffet I've been to but not as fresh as a place specializing in that or generally more expensive. The stews (lamb?/gyro?)I tried were pretty good and flavorful and while some had a small kick to them I wouldn't say they were spicy. I neglected to try the spicy soups because I am weak and cannot handle spicy stuff. (wings are an exception due to masochism, probably)
As others have mentioned you get one kabob per person and we decided to sample one of chicken and one of beef. The only thing they weren't a huge fan of was the beef kabob which I found to be pretty tasty but I can see why some may not like it. Personally I did prefer the chicken kabob over the beef one but they were both well worth the wait and very tasty.
I can't comment on the authenticity of the food considering I am not Turkish nor have I tried Turkish food previously. That being said I very much so enjoyed the food especially...
