Oh boy. So much to say.
Let's start with service...or lack thereof. You start with a kiosk. Personal preference, but it works for some and not others. For some reason you're expected to tip before receiving service, and before any type of meaningful interaction with the robotsâI mean humans making your drink. Hope you don't have questions because the baristas are too busy to handle POS questions...point of sale...not the other pos...
Next, you wait. Unsure of your life choices you look around for the best spot. Taking in the poor layout and beginning to panic because others are waiting to order, you plop down on the nearest stool in the middle of the room. If you're with a friend you start yelling at them. Or if you're alone, you're left wondering why you can't hear your own thoughts. The music is loud, but incoherent. You take a look around to understand why that is. First you notice the art and wonder what the heck it has to do with black sheep. Then you realize that half the wall is covered in an aluminum sheet slightly hidden by more questionable art. You can't help but think that whoever designed the layout and interior of this store deserves to be pushed into an ant pile.
Let's talk about the coffee. You can skip this part if all you drink is frou frou stuff. Ok. So. Your name is called and then you're dismissed (so much for trying to get that barista's name and number over small talk). Whether you're old fashioned or coffeeholic snob, there's plenty to be disappointed in starting with the lack of black coffee options. If you want iced coffee, forget about it because your only option is an iced Americano. I would hand out points for offering the ability to select your espresso, but the options are essentially Folgers or poorly roasted light roast. Debating how I wanted to throw away $4 fking dollars on a shot of espresso and tap water, I chose the latter with some hope, but received a cup of bitter disappointment. No that's not a pun or metaphor. My disappointment had more flavor than the coffee. I've made more fond memories drinking expired coffee than this. I don't blame the barista. This is a straight up coffee quality issue. I wouldn't be surprised if it graded less than 75.
So here I am, down the street at a Starbucks mooching off their slow WiFi to write this. I hate it here. But at least I can taste this burnt coffee.
TLDR; if you're thinking about spending money here, I'd recommend bringing your own cup of water and mixing in some mud out in the parking lot. You don't even have to get out of the car. Just park, open the door, and leave a tip on the ground. I'll come...
Read moreWhile the overall experience at the cafe was good (atmosphere food and customer service), it was the interaction that has occurred between a higher up and a shift. This has happened on 3/21/2025 at around 10:30am- 11am. The guy whose name was Nick, was extremely rude and unprofessional towards a fellow coworker who was a blonde girl but I could not catch her name. He was speaking to her about performance in a very condescending and profanity filled manner. I could only imagine how she felt because as an outsider and as a fellow customer service worker, my friend and I were extremely uncomfortable and upset for her. She had handled herself extremely well and was respectful and asking for feedback which was not adequately given outside of small complaints. He would repeat in circles how she had âmalfunctionsâ and âgapsâand ended the conversation with âis this not bothering you?â and not in a work-not-getting-done type of way, but like he is trying to get under her skin (and it wasnât working) Performance review are important, however the method that Nick had used was degrading, condescending, and unprofessional. There are ways to have coaching moments that do not include putting people down the way he did. I hope this gets to the right people, because I am worried others are being treated the same. I am all for development, and to the girl, props to you for putting up with that because I would have walked out. I hope the blonde girl is having a better day, and will not be putting up with the disrespect again. P.S. all of that aside, having a conversation like that, in the lobby, with guests near by, is by itself...
Read moreNew coffee shop in town and Iâm not too sure about this establishment. I was excited to try this place but the service really left a bad taste in my mouth.
I was the only one in line, the cashier was busy talking to his friend (or another staff there). I waited patiently for a good 5 minutes. I kept inching up so that he can get the hint to stop socializing and greet his customer. When the friend finally left, he asked me for my order. I inquire him about the matcha latte and his response was very condescending. He was more busy tossing the marker in his hand in the air and attempting to catch it than be attentive to his customer. There were 2 other people behind the cash register and no one greeted me either or ask if they can get a drink started for me. The staff here definitely need to be retrain on basic customer service.
I ordered a vanilla matcha latte. I got half sweet and it was still pretty sweet. If you donât like sweet drinks, make sure to note that when youâre ordering! Their cup sizes are off as well. I ordered a large (see photo) and it looks so small in my hand. Their large is equivalent to a regular size at most coffee shops. They also fill my cup with 90% ice so after 4 big sips, I was done with my drink. Very disappointing for the amount that I paid for this. I hope theyâll reevaluate...
