I feel compelled to share a truly awful experience my family and I just had at Cafe de Khan Pikka Tikka in Plano. We chose it because it was nearby and had decent Google reviews, but things quickly went downhill.

When we walked in, we were told the AC in the kitchen was broken, and the dining area was also getting hot as a result. They had many floor fans set up though, and since we were short on time, we decided to stay. While placing our order, I noticed there was no public bathroom. The owner said I could use the staff bathroom, which required walking through the kitchen.

The kitchen was horrifying. There was raw meat and vats of food left out in the heat, flies everywhere, dirty utensils, and random puddles all over the floor. The bathroom was worse than a gas station. Filthy, smelly, and unsanitary.

I immediately told the owner we changed our minds and were leaving. I explained politely that the conditions were too unhygienic, especially since we had our 10 month old twins with us. He responded defensively, saying “the front is clean and that’s what matters”. He also bizarrely said “this was why we don’t let people use the staff bathroom. Its not meant for customers”. ???

To complicate things, while I was placing the order and stuff, my wife had already started feeding the twins some food we had brought with us. Anyone with kids knows it's hard to interrupt meal time once starting, so I asked if we could finish feeding them first, and he reluctantly agreed—but glared at us the whole time. Afterwards, I made sure to clean up meticulously and I said “thank you for letting us feed the twins, I really appreciate it”, but he snapped, saying it was rude of us to cancel the order and kept asking why I thought it was too dirty. I pointed out several dead flies nearby, including one on my menu, and mentioned the raw meat in the hot kitchen.

That’s when he became outright hostile. He told me I didn’t know how restaurants worked, claimed he had plenty of happy customers, and even insulted my father, saying he had raised me poorly. I tried to de-escalate and offered $20 as a gesture since he kept bringing up the fact that we used his space to feed our kids, but that just made him angrier, I’m guessing out of pride. As we were leaving, he followed us out, cursed at us, calling me a “motherchote” and other nasty comments, made comments about how I didn’t know how to raise my own children, and even poked me in the chest while I was holding one of them, trying to provoke a fight.

I said nothing more due to concern for the safety of my kids/family, and we quickly got in the car and left. It was one of the worst, most disrespectful experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Between the unsafe food handling and the owner's aggressive behavior, I strongly recommend others avoid this place for the sake of both...

Cafe de Khan Pikka Tikka is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Pakistani BBQ CUISINE. Their food is absolutely delicious, with a limited variety of dishes to choose from.

I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka, which is a classic Pakistani dish. The chicken is cooked to perfection. The Behari Kabab is another great option, made with ground chicken that is marinated in a mixture of spices and then grilled. The kababs are juicy and tender, and the spices give them a unique and delicious flavor.

For sides, I recommend the Naan bread. The Naan bread is freshly made and perfect for soaking up all of the delicious dishes.

In addition to their delicious food, Cafe de Khan also has a great atmosphere. The restaurant is clean and well-decorated, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Cafe de Khan to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Pakistani dining experience.

In response to the business, attaching the view from their online ordering system. You may want to reword the description with “or” instead of “/“ as it read as it comes with all of those carbs and the selection at the bottom is optional. I appreciate it defaults to puris but they were like oil sponges and the raitha still missing. Updating to 3 stars as I should’ve scrolled down and read the small prints but the business could’ve made the selection mandatory and improve on the description. — Staff was friendly. I did a carry out order of the Lahori Charga that supposedly comes with 2 puris, 1 tandoori naan, Mandi rice and raitha. However the puris, rice and raitha were missing. Instead of naan, I got what appears to be a paratha fully soaked in oil. The chicken had a good seasoning and was juicy, but without any of the sides and paratha not edible, I still had to cook in order to have a complete meal.

I sought out a place to eat authentic Pakistani (more flavorful than Indian) food. I read the names of the people that reviewed them and settled on here. I thought that I found one. When you arrive, it really feels like you’re in that region of the world. The aura takes you there to a slower, service-like atmosphere. If you’ve had an opportunity to have visited, you will know. The family staff (including kids) took great care of my needs. Chicken tikka boti is what I got. Presentation was great. The food was presented wonderfully. However, the flavors missed and because of that, I was disappointed. In addition the music playing, a couple of suggestions would improve the experience for a revisit. * Add regional drinks’ selection in addition to Coke, Pepsi, Sprite. * Offer a condiment/spice list (lemons, veggies, spices, etc) * Make sure that the food is warm enough upon delivery.
