This could be a great dog park but it gets 3 stars from me because of some irresponsible dog owners that bring their aggressive dogs into the park!!!!!! Particularly owners like that of "Caesar", the big, mostly German Shepard, who brings his large, very aggressive dog into the park and attacks the other smaller dogs and does nothing to stop it except shout a little. Apparently the owner of this dog does not care to get his dog some training before bringing him into areas where he's unrestrained! My husband and I brought our 4-month old, 40 lb pup into the park and we weren't fully into the park when Caesar ran into the holding area and proceeded to aggressively ATTACK my dog before he even got into the park! My husband shouted at the owner, "WTH?" but the man just turn and walked away. No apology or anything! What an A!! About a half hour later, Caesar chased my dog and had him pinned down at the neck and we were too far away to get to him in time! I could not relax the entire time we were there with this dog on the loose and we had to leave for my dog's safety after the second attack. I also noticed this owner walked into the SMALL dog park area to get water from their fountain and allowed his German Shepard to follow him inside! Really sad because this is a very nice, large dog park and the dogs can get a lot of exercise and socialize with other dogs not be confined to a leash, but owners of aggressive dogs should be more responsible and thoughtful of other dogs and owners and STAY OUT! This is not the place to show-off what a bada attack dog your dog...

I was looking for another dog park to try and I found this one on Google. I live in the Fairview/Allen area and usually just go over to Bonnie Wenk Park in McKinney. We went on Sunday later in the day, maybe 530-6 and there was nobody there! There was a Cowboys game on so, who knows. The area for the larger dogs (the sign specifies dogs 30+ lbs) was the largest I've ever seen! It's the size of a football field with really nice grass, trees and several benches. There were 2-3 dogs and a couple of people there. Our dog is about 16 lbs so we went to the small dog area (the sign specifies dogs under 30 lbs) and there were NO dogs. The space is probably 1/3 of the size of the large dog area but still a very large space. The grass is nice and well maintained. There are lots of trees with benches underneath if you prefer shade. It was a great place! I took one star off because the water fountain was not working! It was 91 outside and after throwing the ball around for awhile, our dog was thirsty. I didn't realize there would be no water. So, we left sooner than we intended to because I had to go get him some water. I could have definitely stayed awhile longer. Next time I'll be sure to...

It's currently the only dog park in Plano so it's busy although they are building a new park on the west side and one on the east side as well which should help. They did a few recent updates where they took out the gravel walk path around the park and put cement in. It will be hot on the dogs feet in the summer, but is much better for not getting gravel in your shoes. They also just put new grass down which was really needed as there were a lot of large dirt areas before. Lighting is good and you have a short walk across a bridge from the parking lot to the park. Only thing I really find missing is a set of bathrooms for people. Northbark and Bush Central Barkway both have bathrooms so it's something that's definitely needed. Other than that, it's a good park. Lots of room to throw a ball or frisbee and not run into other people. There's a medium/large side which is the main play area and a separate section...

I prefer coming later when there are less people as the park is not laid out well compared to other parks in the area. It Can get real busy here. I have a large dog. I have issues sometimes with the smaller dogs. There is a small dog area next to the large dog area but i find that people still bring their small dog into the park. I understand thay your small over weight dog meets the weight requirements but thirty pounds at 15 to 18 inches tall is still not a good idea when big dogs at 60 to 90 lbs at 25 to 36 inches tall are there. Your dog looks like a squeak toy to big dogs and they will treat it as such. Don't be shocked when that happens and please contain your disdain for the rules or common sense to your self please. Happy park going every body!

A great local dog park for the central Plano area. There are two enclosures, one for dogs 30 lbs and under, another for dogs over 30 lbs. Each enclosure has the perimeter paved with concrete so that the humans can walk like they're on a track. Each enclosure also has a water fountain for dogs and humans to drink from, as well as several benches with shaded tops. Bag dispensers are also available- I've never seen them not well stocked. The only thing that could make it better would be if the big dog enclosure had some trees like the small dog area has.

Wide open dog park. There's a paved path around the whole inside of the park so you can walk around AND not have to tromp through the grass, which has a ton of dog poop hidden everywhere because people don't pick up after their dogs. Benches with shade all around though so plenty of places to rest with your dogs to beat the glare of the sun. The small dog park has a ton more coverage by the trees. Half of that area is in the shade. Small dog owners seem to pick up after their dogs much better too. I have one of each so I experience both sides.
