Critical Review: Extremely Poor Management and Customer Service
I ordered from this restaurant via DoorDash, knowing I would pay a higher price (about 10% more) for the convenience of avoiding a wait. Unfortunately, the experience was the exact opposite of convenient or satisfying. Here’s what happened:
I placed my order online and arrived at the store 30 minutes later, even though the estimated time for the order was 20 minutes. When I checked in, the staff told me it would take another 20 minutes. The restaurant was busy, with about 8-10 people placing orders, so I decided to wait, assuming the delay was reasonable.
However, after 20 more minutes (now 50 minutes since placing the order), I inquired again. Shockingly, the staff had no clue about my order and thought I was a DoorDash driver picking up someone else’s order. Even worse, I witnessed them giving the same items I ordered to walk-in customers who had just ordered, completely disregarding my earlier order.
The mismanagement was appalling. I saw another customer who ordered three items; only one was ready. The staff put the prepared item aside, saying they’d bag it all together once the rest was done. But within 2 minutes, another staff member handed that item to a different customer. The original customer was left waiting for 20 more minutes. This chaotic and uncoordinated service was frustrating to witness.
After waiting an additional 10 minutes (making it 1 hour since ordering), I was told it would take another 20 minutes to prepare my food. At that point, I had no patience left. Trying to reach the restaurant via phone was an ordeal – they didn’t pick up until I called over 10 times, and even then, their response was dismissive. Eventually, I had to contact DoorDash to request a refund. Even DoorDash struggled to get a response from the restaurant, but they finally issued the refund after multiple attempts.
While the food might be good, the restaurant’s inability to manage orders and meet customer expectations ruins the entire experience. If the restaurant knows it’s busy, they should streamline the menu or prioritize better order management. Waiting over an hour, only to leave empty-handed and find food elsewhere, is completely unacceptable.
I would strongly caution anyone against ordering from this restaurant, especially on busy days. The management is severely lacking, and the frustration isn’t worth it. Avoid at all costs unless you’re prepared for a chaotic and...
Read moreI always wanted to try out this place and decided to give it a go. I was there a bit early and they were setting things up and I could see fresh idlli's coming out of the steamer.
I asked for an Upma and was expecting it to be made already but to my surprise, they told me that they will make it fresh and when I asked how long it will take they said about 5 minutes. I was quite skeptical if they could do it in 5 minutes and if so how would it taste. In just around 5 to 7 minutes, my order was ready and I git back home.
I was in for a pleasant surprise. The Upma was made well and was not to spicy considering the generous amount of fresh green chillies in it. If you like things spicy then you will enjoy the peanut chutney that came along with it. The upma had generous amount of onions, daal and pieces of cashews. It was seasoned and tempered well. The portion size was decent considering it is a breakfast item.
This is a food truck-ish behind a gas station and they do have a small area where you can sit and eat. The place is clean and hygienic. They serve food that is typically served in south of India and can be considered street food that can be prepared fast.
I will surely try out a few other items from this place.
