Have driven past this place dozens of times and saw great reviews on-line. Tried it for the first time on a Sunday evening, not very busy. Our party of three had ziti with meatballs, veal cacciatore, and 12” white pizza with ricotta and mozzarella with added sausage and spinach. Ziti had a simple very fresh tasting marinara with two very large and delicious meatballs. Pizza was excellent, and the cheeses and absence of any red sauce made the creamy and rich topping pair well with the yeasty, chewy crust that was perfectly cooked. Sausage was a nice add but will skip the spinach next time as it added little to the pizza other than color and was a bit pricey at $2.50 for that add-on (compared to $1.00 for the sausage add-on which was a bargain!) The veal cacciatore was superlative. Lots of thinly sliced fork tender veal in a delicious sherry wine tomato sauce teaming with roasted mild red peppers, sautéed onions and fresh sautéed mushrooms. This dish has no cheese and benefited (for my tastes) from a good dose of grated parm. One of the noticeable nice things about every dish is that they are not over salted in the kitchen, which allows each diner to salt to taste (as it should be.)
Wine list is small, but very reasonably priced and you can also bring your own and they cork and pour for $5.00. Decent selection of beer as well. The house chianti was delightful and at $6.00, I enjoyed two glasses without cringing at the cost. All dishes were reasonably priced with very ample portions. Half the ziti and the pizza made it home with us.
Wait staff was young and inexperienced but very pleasant, and the owner checked on everyone and chatted. He was busy when we left but made it a point to follow us out the door and thank us.
Overall, an excellent experience that we will be sure to enjoy again now that we’ve...
Read moreWe were super excited to try this place as the reviews looked great. The atmosphere is super cute and quaint, tiny place though. We got seated quick and got drinks and garlic bread for an app. We ordered our food, and my husband got chicken Parmesan with Alfredo INSTEAD of marinara. The server smiled, said okay, and walked away. After 40+ minutes waiting for our food, we finally got it and it was delicious. We both loved what we got. We then were given the check and saw she charged us $7 additional for the Alfredo sauce. She charged us $3.99 for fettuccine, and $2.99 for Alfredo. When I asked about why we were charged for fettuccine noodles and the sauce, she said it’s the charge to have sauce on the noodles and the chicken. Mind you; the chicken Alfredo is $16.99, the chicken parm is $16.99, my husband just wanted the breaded chicken and Alfredo sauce, so that’s usually easier to order than chicken Alfredo with breaded cutlet. I told her she should have mentioned the up charge and confirmed it was okay prior to entering the order. She then told me she can remove one of the charges, but not both, so we paid $4.99 for Alfredo sauce………. Watch what you’re charged here, because our server was not transparent. But the food is great. Hopefully we have a better...
Read moreOne of the best Italian restaurants. It is our anniversary next week so it’s like a tradition for us to go for a vacation before our anniversary. I usually surprise him on our vacation with a dinner date and my husband usually surprises me with a dinner on our anniversary.
This time we were in Dallas and I wanted to surprise my husband with Italian so I had two choices in mind. The other one was so closed so this was our second choice but Iw as so glad we picked this place. I WOULD SAY HANDS DOWN ONE OF THE BEST ITALIAN PLACES ( I didn’t want anyone to miss so Caps).
It was so good - their service, ambience, food. Everything was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. Best place to celebrate any special occasion be it Birthday, Anniversary or you could go for a date here. It’s so romantic.
So they bring you bread so we didn’t order any appetizers. The bread was so good. For main I got the Eggplant Rollatini and my husband got the Chicken Scarpelli. We also decided to get desserts as the food was extremely good. I had Tiramisu and my husband has chocolate mousse cake. I would say that it...
