Where to Eat This Weekend? A Roundup of Dallas’ 10 Best Brunch Spots

This shot right to the top of our favorite Dallas/Ft.Worth area restaurants that we have visited for 2023. We loved everything about 60 Vines! The location, the wide open Interior design, the amazing and inviting staff, the amazing and inspiring food combinations and did we mention the incredible selection of wines? The menu has many tantalizing offerings, hardest part of the evening was acceptance that we couldn't try it all at once! Ordinary we pick out what we want to try that night. If a place is really good we might pick what we want for lunch the next time or dinner next we try them. Honestly with Sixty Vines we where picking out stuff we want to try all the way to our 4th and even 5th returning visits. YES IT'S THAT GOOD! We started off with two wine flights my wife had a Chardonnay selection which was really good, while I sampled a selection of 3 Riselings all where very tasty... for our appetizer we both sampled the Beet & Goat Cheese salad, it was a delicious, super fresh and wildly different take the traditional and we both loved it. Next we had the Wood Fired grilled shrimp also to die for wholesome goodness that paired fantastically with our white wine selections. For our Entrées I had the Grilled Pork Chop (this was no ordinary Pork Chop) I dare say this was the best Pork Chop I have ever had without question. Meat was so soft and buttery in texture and the flavorful seasoning rendered a symphony of flavors on the palet unparalleled. My wife had the Shrimp Capallinie a very flavorful and delicious take on traditional Italian pasta dish but so aromatic and fresh of flavor I highly recommend this one as well. Our server was Cindy and she was also amazing, with a friendly and delightful charm and encyclopedic knowledge of the entire menu. (I have been to high end fine dining restaurants that the staff did not excel to her level) in future visits we will ask for her specifically if she is on duty. Carson was the Manager that we interacted with and he was also very friendly and accommodating. Had any issues arose I am sure he would have been quick to set things right, however everything about the evening was flawless. We will definitely be adding this place to the tip top of our favorite haunts list. My only regret is we had no room left to try one of there tantalizing desserts. Oh well, will try them next time. Cheers! ( highly recommend reservations during peek dinner rush) we arrived around 3:30 during off peak and without reservations where seated immediately.

A Five Star experience from beginning to end. For those who enjoy details, please read on…. I tried to make a reservation on the restaurant’s website (Plano location) which took me to the Open Table site. Sixty/60 Vines did not show as an option for the date/time I needed (a week out) so I called the restaurant and spoke with Mike. He was incredibly helpful and pleasant - not rushed as I would’ve expected (and experienced w/other restaurants) when they’re getting ready to open for the day. Thank you, Mike, for setting the great tone for the entire experience. This was the first time to try 60 Vines for 6 of the 7 in our party. We were a few minutes early and seated as soon as possible which was within 5 minutes of our reservation time. Before getting into the next details, know that our group is pretty particular when it comes to food and wine. Our server, Galileo, explained the set-up and menu, answering each of our questions along the way. Our “Birthday Girl” sure enjoyed flirting with him. He doesn’t claim Italian heritage but I think it’s somewhere in his lineage. All the food was great and many great wine options too. We had a “Pick 6” Board, Crispy Zucchini (tasted especially good w/the included red peppers), Roasted Cauliflower (was best w/included hummus), and Bacon Wrapped Dates. These were a little late from the kitchen and no longer warm but the Birthday Girl said they were still quite tasty. Each person in our party enjoyed their dinner selections as well which included the Shrimp Campanella, Crest di Gallo, Fig & Prosciutto Pizza, and Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and New York Strip Steak. After dinner, Galileo was able to give us an informative, very enjoyable tour…and the Birthday Girl loved it too!! I almost forgot, the Sticky Toffee Cake (the only dessert we tried) was so good we ordered more!! Again, from speaking with/Mike to the end of our tour with Galileo, it was a great evening. SIDE NOTE: I tried to leave a review on Open Table but the site did not allow it...so Google it is. Pics not in focus - I wasn't prepared but wanted to capture the moment.

I was invited to this restaurant by some colleagues who were giving a Crew Leader a going-away celebration. Little did I know what awaited me there regarding cuisine, service, and atmosphere. Our amazing servers, Rishi and Stephanie, were so patient with this sometimes vocal group (in a good way) (24). They explained the menu and asked whether we had any questions, especially about the wine menu. I viewed the menu before arriving and continued perusing it once we got there because I could not decide. I ordered two things from the Small Plate menu for my table: Pan-Roasted Mussels and Blistered Shishito Peppers. For my entrée, I ordered Creste Di Gallo. Everything was so seasoned and cooked just right. As I’ve stated in other reviews, I appreciate when the food is presented well since my mother was a professional caterer. But it’s a bonus when it tastes even better, too. My colleagues ordered so many other dishes. However, one of them ordered the pork chops and allowed me to taste a small portion of them. In hindsight, I’m mad I did not order this because when I took that first bite, I had NEVER tasted pork that tender and juicy; it melted in your mouth. My colleague looked at my face when I took that first bite and laughed so hard because I looked like I was having…(Okay, I have to keep it clean for the children’s sake) I do not know how and what this chef does to this meat, but keep doing it, chef. Let me add that my entrée was delicious, and I would order it again without hesitation. However, I would not leave without ordering some pork chops, too. I appreciate the Manager, Adam, indulging me when I told him my thoughts about the pork chops, and giving kudos concerning our servers. Forgive me for the half-eaten plate of Mussels photo. I didn’t think to take a picture until after we had devoured them along with the Peppers. So, good… I was visiting Texas and wish I had known about this place earlier. I would have gone back to eat again. However, this is a nice treasure for both those who live here and those who visit.

I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I would have definitely returned to try more dishes, if it weren't for the poor service. Order placed - Salumi & Cheese Board: This board was more than enough for two - Sausage Pizza: My husband ordered this and he liked it too - Wagyu: LOVED this. I would definitely recommend this The service was very poor and late. Every dish that we ordered first went to another table and then they re-directed it to our table. I understand that it's busy and happens once that you misunderstand the table, but it's hard to be considerate if every item you order goes to some other table. We ordered wine samples and then chose one and ordered an 8oz portion of that, both took forever to reach us. We had to ask around twice for our wine before we actually got it. We got our cheese board and the wine came in lot later after that. I expected that somebody would go over what's on the cheese & salumi board so we know what we are eating but nobody explained anything to us. The guy just slammed the board on our table and left. Did not even look at us. They made sure that we felt 'out of place' in there. After that it felt like our next course was hurried to us. We had barely gotten half-way through our cheese board and we got our main course. Like we weren't given enough time enjoy the food and enjoy my husband's company. It was supposed to be a date and we ended up rushing everything. The lady who took care of our orders was very friendly and checked on us for the appropriate amounts of time. She was very sweet and apologetic about the bad service. The food was great, ambience was amazing.. The poor, or I would say biased service, was off-putting. I would highly recommend to look for a friendly place than go the Sixty Vines.

Being a big fan of Front Burner Restaurants, Sixty Vines is one of the last places from the restaurant group I had yet to try. The restaurant itself was nice, service was good so its what I expected. We brought my mother in law here because ambiance means something when looking at places to eat apparently. I could care less about all that but apparently this place has it, so all good. Full disclosure: I’m not a wine drinker, so Sixty Vines probably isn’t quite catered towards me anyway. We started out with the Old Fashion for 2. Would not recommend, at all. Just make a regular old fashion and throw some potpourri in and it’ll be about the same. The seasonal herbs are just a terrible mixture that really make the drink a bad one. The TX Tequila Fix is a little better, but nothing that really makes you want to order another one by any means. It’s just a decent drink. The baked ricotta with sourdough was probably the highlight of the meal. Very good flavors in all of it, definitely would order again. The spicy sausage pizza was just ok. It looked great, but just a pretty average pizza. Not a lot of flavor. Overall the visit was just ok. Nothing really stood out to really bring me back. Wasn’t terrible by any means, just a lot of places I would rather go that are all nearby.
