Why two stars? I was debating on just three, however parking is EXTREMELY limited. None of the neighboring businesses seem to get along. They all have “parking for dentist only” or “parking for medical center only” painted everywhere.
So I do find a space, like the last space at 1:30pm. Luckily I don’t drive a pickup truck, I would not have found a space. They are all the “compact” space saving parking spaces.
You know the type…
So, all I order is onion rings. I wasn’t super hungry and I love onion rings. Besides, if they can’t get those right, how could they possibly do a good burger?
No “thank you” from the register guy. They didn’t call out my order, even though the register guy said I was order # 12.
But the kicker is, after zero verbal communications, they must be trying to save money, because they did not have any napkins anywhere. I looked. None, Zip, Zilch. They pass them out with the food. When they call your number.
It’s just little things like this that set a good burger joint apart from, well, a below average burger joint like this 2 star place.
And the onion rings? They were the pre frozen, bought from Sysco or some other food distributor. So, okay but def not the best or anything close to it.
I was excited because as you can see in the picture, you can build your own burger.
The other place that starts with an “F” is better. I bet it was the other guy’s idea first too by the...
Read moreUPDATE May 2024: Sunday lunch is popular with friends and families. Good size crowd enjoying the food and better conversations. Its been four yrs since our last visit. Lots of hamburger and other venues to temp our food interest. They serve very likely the largest burger/bun in the county. And that's all as you have opportunity to put on it all the other stuff; lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onions, etc. I think this is only place in town where the customer puts on the fixins. We got the sweet potato fries served waffle style like at that chicken place. Not so good. Go for the regular french fries next time. They have added a touch/pay at register. See photo. UPDATE Nov 2020. OooRah! They have survived the virus crises so far. Good for them. Lots of virus precautions in place so its a safe place to eat. They have removed the serve yourself toppings but you get it all provided with the burger which you put on yourself. Very good fries; soft and not too big. UPDATE Jul 2016 Return visit after long absence. Too many burger joints in Plano. Different in that you put on your own toppings; lettuce, onions, pickles, tomato slices. Serve on the larger burger...
Read moreMy wife was recommended by a coworker to this chain; because, they have good hamburgers, so we gave it a try.
So, I dropped in to pick up some Sunday lunch to take home.
Walked in: The place was busy, and there was a guy waiting to take my order. I told him it was my first time, so he explained a few things, plus recommended the menu on the wall. The menu was quite legible and easy to read. So, I ended up ordering a Turkey burger & sweet potato fries for my wife and a California chicken burger for myself.
Waiting: I sat down and took in the atmosphere. It was clean, busy, and they still had plenty of seating. They also have a bar for toppings. If you desire to eat in, you load your own toppings, which is a big plus in my book. This fast food chain looks like a renovated Italian restaurant in the inside.
Arrived at home: My food was still hot after drive for 15mins. My toppings were wrapped in foil. Man!! This burger is huge😄. The chicken on my burger was moist, flavorful, and seasoned. This is one the best chicken burgers I have ever tasted.
We will...
