UPDATE Feb 2024: Seeing today's Sun crowd (see photos) this place deserves 5 stars. Lots and lots of friends and families present for lunch and the food kept coming. We didn't notice any noticeable delay in being served. Just finding a place to sit as large groups came today. Sunday is always popular. We enjoyed the seasonal lobster roll which was great. And we got another meal as take home. We have eaten here almost every month. UPDATE Feb 2023: Monthly fish catch for us with coupon. Posted photo of new dessert. Lots of friends and families for Sun lunch. UPDATE May 2021. No masks required of customers. Staff wearing them. The banana pudding was delicious. We come here once a month to enjoy the bargain for being loyalty club members. Its worth it. And the leftovers are great. UPDATE Feb 2021. We had to go out (cabin fever) after a week enduring the state wide cold freeze. Lots of other customers did the same thing including take out. I am glad the restaurant was able to make it through the week intact. UPDATE Aug 2020 Back again for our monthly fish fix. UPDATE May 2020 Wonderful to eat inside this month. Last month we had take out in the car in nearby parking lot. Inside half the tables are blocked off. Staff cleaning all the time. No problem taking and delivering order. Plenty of leftovers always. We skipped dessert to head out for for DQ cone with coupon. Next time we would get fried pie with ice cream. Yummy. We ate on Wed lunch hour with a number of take outs going on, few in dinning room. UPDATE Apr 2020 Lunch order made by phone during Covid-19 virus crises. No one allowed inside for sit down meal. They have a drive-up location at front door. So just call when you get there and they bring it out. We got plenty of food again so plenty of leftovers. Will be back for sit down to enjoy the hot fried pie with ice cream. Yummy. 1st visit to this location (Nov 2018) on a very rainy weekday. Fast and prompt service. Great decor, see photos. We got the 1 filet catfish baskets with choice of different sides than usual. The basket of fried okra is more than enough for two. Worth another visit. UPDATE Nov 2018 a couple of weeks later. Came with Groupon Extra so get one entree with another free equal/lesser value. Chose the grilled platters very good bargain as we got leftovers. Left room for pumpkin fried pie w/ice cream. Bumped rating to 4 stars. UPDATE Dec 2018 Back for more. They get 5 stars now. Trying different menu items each visit. We got great bargain with buy one get one free just after two visits. UPDATE Oct 2019 Back again for monthly loyalty club discounted meal. Sign up its worthwhile. We especially like the sauce to dip one's shrimp tacos into as it adds a lot of flavor. We were good and just had the banana pudding instead of fried pie with ice cream. Yummy.

This was our first time coming to Flying Fish. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable it was inside. It's a very big space, so you don't feel crowded. We ended up choosing to sit on the patio because it was surprisingly cool in the evening, even on a day that had almost reached 100. My wife had the grilled shrimp tacos with fries. I had the catfish tacos with red beans and rice. I was surprised by the hard corn shell instead of a flour tortilla. The initial presentation seemed a bit basic but the flavors and texture were perfect. The crispy shell added a nice crunch to the taco, and the shrimp and catfish were cooked perfectly. I loved the coleslaw and pico topping it all off, but my wife thought the slaw was a bit too sweet. It was a great experience all around. From the friendly cashier, the comfortable ambience, cool patio with great food! We will be looking forward to our next visit!

I absolutely love that fish camp style restaurants are trending again! It brings on a lot of nostalgia for me from childhood. We took our daughter after her Christmas party at church and there were smiles all around! Our food was piping hot and delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl of gumbo. My husband ordered the grilled redfish that was served with grilled squash, beans and rice. It was very fresh and clean tasting. The service here is tremendous and the staff are over the top friendly. The restaurant has the typical decor of pictures of fisherman showing off their catches all over the wall. It is very family friendly as well. The location is very conveniently located to our youngest daughter's home so I am quite sure that the delicious food here will "lure" us back in!

I usually have a very good experience here, even when they are busy. Today was not the same. Starts from placing my order over the phone, since it's fathers day so I'm pretty sure it'll be packed. Was hung up on right after they asked for my name, without a wait time. Had to call back to get it, no big deal, I assume they are very busy. I arrived 25m after I placed my order, the same time the lady I had spoke to on the phone has said to pay.

They said it wasn't ready, having checked the bags that were already lined up for pickup. No big deal, there's a line out the door, so I waited. Out of the corner of my eye, I had seen a order that was placed for Dine-In that looked like mine and was taken back by the staff since no one picked it up, but I didn't think anything of it. After 15m of waiting, someone asked the name for my order to check on it, but nothing. Then after 30m of waiting, I went to the counter to ask about my order.

I told the person expediting the food what was on my order, and the order I had seen 30 MINUTES AGO for Dine-In WHEN I ARRIVED was my order. I saw them pack it, probably barely warm from sitting under heat lamps, and was sent on my way. Only got a small apology and that's it. I was too hungry and it was too many people around for me to comfortably complain at the store, so I just took it home.

Food still tasted fine, even if it was lukewarm, but even when they are busy, this is the first time I've has such a big issue at a restaurant for pick up. I don't know if my specific order just completely slipped people's minds, but it's not a good feeling seeing people come after you over a 30m period, getting asked about my order by workers, and no one bothered to actually check where my order actually way...

I had happened to drive-by and saw the restaurant being tucked in a new small shopping center. It was Wednesday and I decided to order the All You Can Eat fried catfish with one side order of new potatoes. The potato was boiled and melted butter. Nothing special for this side dish. The fried catfish fillets were standard size with corn bread batter. It needed some seasoning to up notch their fried catfish. I decided to do two serving as it is unlimited fried catfish. Their tartar sauce needed some seasoning so I had to add-on hot sauce to wake up the favor of their tartar sauce.the side order would just be one time so that was disappointing as you just can't eat just fried catfish a second round without any side order if it is not included in the all you can eat deal. The crowds were not much on a Wednesday night at 8pm so this restaurant is not doing well for this night. Well, I caught a small bone of the catfish so cleaning of a fish needs improvement to avoid their eater choking. Definitely not coming back for this place. You must do your own refills on drinks as it is not being offered so no tipping to the waitress or waiter unless you needs to do so. A full service would receive a good tips. I gives a 2 stars as nobody was worry on why I was choking to ask me if I was okay or not. Their decorations were creative with their seafood meals. Their meal pricing are little expensive for the quality and quantity you...
