I have been struggling to find a nice community spot to work and relax for a long time now. I work from home 2 days of the week and run my own business on weekends and sometimes I just need to get out of the house. The vibe here is laid back and it has so many awesome little areas. I do have a list of things I believe could be done better, but I'll list the things I love first:
Pros: • Lots of space • Huge floor to ceiling windows • A quiet library area • LOADS of outlets near tables • Super friendly workers • Great location
I love that I can almost always find a place to sit when I come in here. It's size is a huge plus since it's such a highly trafficked area. The windows make spending your day working inside feel a little less stuffy and it can feel like you're working outside sometimes. The small separate, closed-off room in the center of the building is a quiet library, which is really great if you need to be in deep focus or you want fewer distractions around you. The abundance of outlets by the tables in the café area is super convenient and allows me to plug in numerous devices (sometimes I have 3 separate laptops). The workers are all very kind and helpful. The location is super convenient. Right off of Legacy and right next to a RaceTrac, which is great if I want a drink or a snack that might not be offered here.
Cons: • Not as optimized for working as I'd like • The large windows are great...until after 12pm • A lack of outlets in the lounge area
One of the main things about this place that I can find frustrating is that while it is quite large, there is only a fraction of the space that is actually optimized for people who are working. There are five high top tables and one corner booth area in the primary café area that allows for use of the numerous outlets that line the floorboards. There are also 4 small round tables, but they are too small to spread out and work and you don't have any access to outlets without stretching your cords across the walking path.
The rest of the community areas, the lounge, has two or three decently sized living spaces with sofas and chairs and coffee tables. There are also a couple of group tables and some more smaller round tables as well. It's a lovely space and I would be happy to work over there, but here is nary an outlet to be found except on one single wall, making it impossible to plug in to work anywhere. I was so shocked to find that there are no floor outlets anywhere in the building. Working here is relaxing...once you can get to a spot that has an outlet. Usually the first hour or two is spent in a waiting game, watching for any of the 6 tables with outlet access to become available. Once one does, you have to swoop in like a hawk to grab it before someone else does. The scarcity of outlet access in such a large place is quite disappointing and sadly takes a star away from my rating. Most people who come here and sit and stay a while are doing so to work, so why is there such a lack of workspace optimized seating?
The other slight issue I've noticed is that due to how the building is positioned, after 12pm the sun absolutely blasts through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the café area. It's certainly great to have some sun and to see outside, but when you're working on screens and the glare from the sun only gets worse as the day progresses it can be really frustrating. Obviously, this is a small problem and probably doesn't even bother lots of people. I also realize that nothing can be done about the position of the building. I do think it would be a great addition to have some sort of sheer shades on all or even just some of the windows so that in the later afternoon hours people are able to reduce the amount of glare that comes through and messes with computer screens.
All in all, I love this place. I come here to work any chance I get. Just be prepared to get here early if you want a spot with power access, or be willing to wait a while until...
Read moreLocal good coffee shop is the perfect place for people who love community, recreation, and coffee. This was my first time visiting and I loved how many options there were to be active. They had a basketball court, pickleball court, and volleyball court. As someone who loves playing sports I thought how fun this idea was. The space was huge when I walked in. I would assume that this would be a great place to study or even meet with a friend. The baristas were very friendly which is always a good thing. The menu was very short so I’d love to see the menu come out with more syrups. But if you just want traditional coffee options they definitely had it. I also noticed they made housemade syrups which is something I always look out for. I really loved that! I will say they are cashless so thankfully I had card but it’s definitely something to know before going in. My coffee came out in a timely manner. I also noticed they had lots of options for people who didn’t like coffee or just needed water after a game. My coffee was pretty good. I couldn’t taste the espresso as much but I’m also used to tasting very strong coffee so I didn’t mind. I ordered a hot vanilla latte and was happy with the amount of flavor that was in it. The latte art was barista approved ;) my mom did order an iced latte and it tasted more like milky coffee. I do think this shop is wonderful and just needs little bits of improvement. Overall I liked this coffee shop and look forward to seeing it thrive! Would...
Read moreUpdate: The new Autumn “oatmeal cookie” latte.. my heaven in a cup. And after the roughest week.. Lauren’s kindness really shines.
Spacious, calm, light atmosphere with a lot of seating options and rooms, even a quiet library for those who want to immerse in peace. Their house-made flavors are delicious. I had the earl-grey matcha. Soft jazz music playing, unlike many places that now have exhaustive music. Plus spacious or private outdoor patios.. for a little slice of nature. I only wish I found this place sooner, as I’m moving soon! And.. they have athletic courts like basketball courts/ tennis. Such a connective place, something for everyone’s cup of tea. A little slice of heaven after a very long week. They are very welcoming, Lauren is always so bright and bubbly while greeting me. I’m so glad I pushed myself out on a rainy cozy day to try it.. grateful for the meditative library too, for introverts who need to tune out noise. Not many places offer what they do! Best wishes to future seasons of...
