As someone who dreaded driving all the way to Carrolton for sundubu (BCD was my go-to) I’m so glad we finally got a place of our own in Plano right next to highway 75. We ordered the sundubu + LA galbi combo and stonebowl bibimbop to share. I tasted the sundubu and could tell immediately that their soup base was better than your typical sundubu at other restaurants. Ironically, this is how BCD tofu house USED to make theirs (in LA & NY) but the taste changed over time to being more watered down, overly spiced with msg and lacking in flavor.

Chodang’s soup base had a rich yet mild taste that wasn’t overwhelming, even in Medium. My stone bowl bibimbop was topped abundantly with traditional namul that was fresh and actually seasoned well. I usually don’t order bibimbop outside because of my trauma of being served salad kit vegetables that aren’t even native to this dish (cabbage, american zucchini, broccoli?! Yuck) But Chodang passed my test and my husband kept saying their bibimbop reminded him of a home cooked meal (but hooray since I didnt have slave over making each namul lol) Galbi was tasty; nothing spectacular but free of inedible fat and sometimes that’s all you want from a meal you didnt make.

Overall food-wise, Chodang serves up classic dishes that are executed well, as if your Korean mom made it with love.

PS: I dont usually comment on rice but Chodang’s rice tastes amazing. They definitely stood out. Each grain was cooked perfectly yet separated with ease with less glutenous texture than my typical home rice. I wonder if they use different rice than ones I buy from Hmart? Would love to find out next...

Cho Dang Village in Plano is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic Korean cuisine. I recently visited and was blown away by their delicious offerings and top-notch service.

To start, the tofu soup here is simply phenomenal. It has the perfect balance of flavors—rich, savory, and comforting, with just the right amount of spice. It’s hands down one of the best tofu soups I’ve ever had. We also tried the hot stone bibimbap, and it was a real treat. The crispy rice at the bottom, fresh vegetables, and perfectly seasoned beef made each bite satisfying. Mixing it all together with the gochujang sauce created a harmony of flavors that’s just irresistible.

The spicy pork was another highlight of the meal. Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, it paired wonderfully with the side dishes and rice. Speaking of sides, the banchan they serve is plentiful and varied—everything from kimchi to pickled radish was fresh and delicious, enhancing the meal experience.

The staffs here was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure our water glasses were always full and checking in to see if we needed anything throughout the meal. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home.

A must-visit for anyone in the Plano area looking for a great Korean meal. I’m already looking forward to my next visit to try more of their...

This was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I absolutely fell in love with it! It’s a small, cozy, and very clean spot with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Sometimes these hidden gems are the best—and this place truly impressed me.

The food was excellent, both in taste and portion size. Everything we ordered came out fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend the short rib soup—it was rich, hearty, and so comforting. The tofu soup was also delicious, with just the right level of spice, and the grilled mackerel was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor.

I loved it so much that I brought my family and some friends from out of town back with me on my second visit—and everyone absolutely loved it! They were just as impressed with the food and the cozy atmosphere. I also ordered take out a few times as well.

You can tell they care about quality and presentation, and I really appreciated how clean and well-kept the entire place was. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers on both food and experience, but this one truly does.

I’m already looking forward to coming back again and trying even more from the menu. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a satisfying, home-style Korean meal in a relaxed and...
