This temple had always been close to our house and heart. But I had a bad experience today with the new Management volunteer who seems to have half knowledge and was trying to influence us negatively with it. For my mothers 5th year death anniversary, I wanted to do a Hiranya tarpanam, a simple ritual of offering the deceased with rice / fruits / water / flowers wishing for her peace and seeking her blessings. This is not the elaborate shraddham that is done annually. The poojari took me to a different room and performed the rituals which only took about 10 mins. The manager at the counter asked us not to come back to the temple after the tarpanam and we were fine with it but the poojari insisted we returned and took Aarti in the temple. We followed his instructions. We asked him multiple times and he said it was completely fine and we should take the Aarti. So we followed him. When leaving the temple the manager who was now outside starting yelling at us for reentering temple. He said all the good things you just did would result in bad effects and he said this twice. Is this the way the temple manager communicates? We told him that we followed the poojari’s instructions and poojari confirmed for this type of tarpanam it’s fine to which he said - I am just a volunteer here and I don’t know much. If he didn’t know much does he have any business to tell us negative things about our performed rituals with half baked knowledge? Very disappointing experience. I don’t think anyone has the right to claim on the sanctity of a certain ritual without knowing enough and especially as temple management more maturity and knowledge is expected. I think the volunteer needs to be apologetic for his behavior if not to me or my deceased mother, he needs to be apologetic to the Gods and his inner self for his ignorance because guess what - what we say and action can have more bad effects than performing rituals with full faith. I would expect the management and the poojaris to be on the same page. If the manager doesn’t know enough...
Read moreWhat I learnt was this Ganesh Temple was one of the First in the area, may have not grown exponentially like the other ones around but a place to cut the busy noise and worship. The Place is growing, there are quite a few events planned frequently. The new Temple building is underway, you could see all the beautiful workmanship lined up to be housed in the new Temple. Traditional, more oriented to towards the southern custom - not to ward off any one, it is just my observation. I assume the new Temple will house more deities, a more spacious area to have more devotees. I could only wish people who have the chance of visiting the temple under construction to share...

From start to finish, the event was well planned and executed. The temple manager Savitha was very organized and had a clear plan for the evening. All the details were taken care of and the event ran smoothly. Savitha was also very knowledgeable and had a great sense of hospitality. She was accommodating to all of our requests and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Overall, the event was a great success and I highly recommend that anyone who is looking to organize an event to contact Savitha. She is sure to make...
