VERY POOR SERVICE! I heard good things about this restaurant and was excited to try it for a date night. I called to check the wait time and was told 30 min, which for 730PM in that area not terrible. My wife and I get there and we are seated immediately which I was pleased about. Come to find out we are set at a table in the middle of the seating area that looks out to the fountain great view, but it was so small we had to stack things and set others on the floor. It was so loud in there I felt like I was at a night club; we couldn’t hear each other talk with out yelling to which everyone else could hear you because seems like that’s what everyone one had to do to hear. The service honestly was that terrible, it took an abnormal amount of time just to get water! Not to mention we never even got refills. We finally place our order, (which this is more traditional Mexican with a new age spin, by that I mean they don’t have fajitas) We started with chips and hot sauce and I’m not sure why they bring individual cups of chips out the embarrassingly small hot sauce ramekin that you have to share with your party the logic is not there but I digress, the best salsa was the orange one and was on the spicy side which is always favorable. I ordered Loaded Jalapenos which were the highlight of the meal the flavor was fantastic; they packed some heat so if you’re a Nancy when it comes to spicy things just stick to the overpriced guac; because it was exactly that a make it yourself why did I pay this much for guac? I ordered the Asada and while the flavor was good it left me disappointed and for the money the plate just didn’t line up and again its not like they blow you away with the service. My plate just looked sad and almost homemade with the steak on a bed of onions and a small side of slaw. My wife ordered chicken tacos served in corn tortillas while I don’t remember the name it was less that good. It was bland as could be. When the waiter finally came back over we sent her food back and from how long it took to get something she politely declined his offer to get something else as my meal was already done. He did remove that from the bill which was appreciated. However, speaking of bill. When I asked for a to-go box and you bring one and not my check with it and then a little later you ask if I want the check I kind of wanted to flip out. Like no the evening was so great id like to stare at my food in the box a little longer before I pay. Would eat here again but...

The food was yummy - 5 stars! The ambiance (especially the patio) are amazing - 5 stars! The service was not great - 2 stars.

This was our first visit, double date night! and we were treated to a patio seat on the first amazing night of the season. We had a reservation for four and when two of us checked in early, letting the hostess know we were happy to wait until the other two arrived, she assured us it was no big deal to seat us early. Our waitress was not too thrilled, nor did her mood or attitude change through the evening. We were accidentally seated with no menus, so when our waitress arrived a few minutes later asking what we wanted to drink and we were not ready, stating we'd like drink menus, she huffed and walked away to get us menus. As she handed them to us, again she asked "what would you like to drink?" As kindly as we could we asked for a moment to read through the options, but could we have water. She turned and walked away. A few moments later a kind & smiling gentlemen brought us water, chips & the salsa trio. When our waitress finally returned to get our drink order we were ready!

When the rest of our party arrived, they had literally just picked up the drink menu when the waitress did the same to them.

We all did our best to be as patient and kind as we could to her, giving her the benefit of the doubt (maybe she had a bad day, her kid was sick, she got some bad news, etc). She was clearly frustrated we wouldn't be ordering any starters and I don't recall if she checked on us once our meals were delivered, but I'd like to say she did. Our dinner plates had been cleared for some time when we finally flagged her down to ask for dessert menus, she acted put-off and was even more frustrated (body language and a verbal "huff") when only one of us ordered dessert. She dropped the checks at the same time the dessert was brought and when she circled around a few moments later she picked up clearly EMPTY checks (we hadn't put our cards in yet) she made an big deal of saying "oh they're empty" and laying them back down in the middle of the table! We all cringed for her and without waiting another moment handed her our cards. She brought them back very quickly and we never saw her again. Our waters were never filled again and our chips, which we had asked to be re-filled during dinner, had never been refilled.

We all agreed we would try Mesero again, the food and ambiance were good enough to come back, and hopefully this waitress has moved on, or her future...

I've wanted to try this place since it opened. As a treat, my husband picked me up with our daughter for a lunch date and we drove over on my lunch break. While waiting for our food (past 20 minutes) 2 different tables that were seated after us received their food before ours, and one of those tables were done eating, paid and left prior to our food arriving.

Being on my hour lunch break and getting the opportunity to eat with my family during that time (which is rare), it completely ruined the mood and made me late back to work; not to mention not fully being able to enjoy the quality of the meal. What was most frustrating was two of the managers that were there (I was watching) were either standing around or sitting at the bar literally THE ENTIRE TIME, save once when one was at the back of the restaurant drinking water, you know, from working so hard. I never once saw either of them address any tables, or make their rounds confirming guests were happy.

I understand a waiter forgetting to put an order in (he came back 10 minutes after we ordered to confirm our food and said the systems were down), but I would appreciate a manager stepping in to apologize. Instead, our waiter and the manager on multiple occasions, were seen hugging, or leaning on each other....completely inappropriate and unprofessional.

Our negative experience and lack of professionalism have 'trumped' the excellent quality of the food, or somewhat decent experience with the waiter himself.

This $40 lunch was not worth it, and as I work across from Legacy West and frequent this area often, I will not be bringing my business back to Mesero, quite unfortunate.

Instead of having an enjoyable meal with my family, we were stressed and frustrated. I should not have to chase a manager down for their blunders to be noticed, they have lost their right to fix this situation when they chose to not do their jobs.

When it's clear you don't appreciate and respect our business, it's an insult, and I am sorry to have given a restaurant like this any of our...

Went here for the first time yesterday for lunch and had a really great time. The presentation of the food was beautiful. Every dish looked like a work of art. The nachos conocidos were fantastic (4 individual nachos with a large piece of grilled chicken and a slice of avocado on each). My mom got some kind of grilled chicken salad (which she loved) and I got the 2 combination. The enchiladas were amazing and some of the best I’ve ever had! Our server was Pedro. He was super nice and friendly and provided great service. He was always nearby for a refill or to ask if we need anything. Even if the food hadn’t been good (which it WAS!) his friendliness and attentiveness would have made up for it. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is that the espresso martini was $16 and tasted awful. I have no problem paying $16 for an espresso martini; in fact, the price was one of the reasons I ordered it because I figured it HAD to be amazing for $16. Espresso martinis are my favorite drink and I get them everywhere. This one was really bad unfortunately. They dump a ton of cinnamon on top which really overpowers the other flavors. I couldn’t actually tell if there was any coffee in it because it just tasted like booze and cinnamon. Either way, I’m new to the area and this was my first time here. I’ll definitely come back for the food and service and I’ll get a different drink next time! If the other drinks are better I’ll happily update my review to 5 stars.

We were greeted by Fernando (General Manager) and promptly shown to our table. It was our first time dining here at this location after over five years. Food was still delicious, service was still attentive without being intrusive, and the traditional, classy ambiance and modern flair with the pops of color had the wow factor I remembered and so loved on our first visit. I love that they still serve the tortilla chips and trio of salsas/dipping sauces - it truly enhances the experience and is a perfect accompaniment to whatever entrée you choose. Andres was our knowledgeable and attentive server - he made several Menu suggestions, asked us if we had any questions, and gave us a few minutes before he took our order. Andres made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us occasionally during our meal. Started things off with two smooth and beautifully balanced Jalapiña cocktails (with Tajin on the rim). Amazing! Mom ordered the cremaqueso enchiladas with cilantro cream (no beans) and red rice. I ordered the Oaxaqueñas enchiladas with mole sauce (no beans) and white rice. We both loved our entrées and would certainly consider ordering these again on our next visit. The Mole had an earthy, somewhat and subtly smoky flavor which I loved. No complaints. Portions are ideal. Got too full to order dessert, so will save that for next time. We will certainly return and dine here as frequently as we can.
