This is such a neat place to go and experience. Experience being the key word. It’s not a place you can go to just once and have a good feel for. You really have to go back a few times and try more stalls and with different people. Each time will be a different adventure.
I have been a handful of times now. I love it. When my husband is nearby (he works over there), he’ll often bring us home a box of macarons or even a couple poke bowls for dinner. My 6yo daughter LOVES the pork belly steam buns at Bao. So he’ll grab our bowls and her pork belly and come to one happy family.
Overall, this is just a great place to go that will meet a variety of pallets. It’s easy to spend a lot of money though. Not because it’s crazy expensive. No. It’s pretty standard fresh counter service pricing. But all the options are tempting and it’s easy to get a little here and there. Before you know it you’ve tried five things from five places and spent $50. But go with friends and share. That way you can try more and help your wallet.
S/O your wallet, it’s cc only. If you only have cash, you have to buy a hall pass that can be used at any of the bars or stalls.
DRINKS:
The only places to buy adult beverages are at the bars on each floor. The Prime Thyme is my favorite cocktail I’ve had! FYI. Each bar has different offerings which is both neat and kind of annoying. Lol. Upstairs in the third floor is where most of the beer is and there’s also a small stage for musical performances.
You can buy non alcoholic beverages and fountain drinks at each of the stalls though.
THE FOOD (that I’ve tried):
My favorite thing I’ve eaten fresh so far are the brisket fries at Bao. Yes, it’s brisket and fries but it’s fine with an Asian twist. The sauce is delicious. If you don’t want the meat or sauce, the fries alone are the best fries in the building! Full disclosure: I’ve tried fries at roots, the brat place, and Bao. So take my opinion for what you will. 😉.
The pizzas from forno Nero are excellent! They are Neapolitan style (classic central Italy inspiration), super fresh and delicious. Nutella lovers shouldn’t skip the Nutella calzone they have for dessert either.
Schwarma has a great selection of Greek mats and toppings. Delicious!
The duck fat fried chicken wings at roots are so good! A fave of my kids when we are there to eat. They are on the greasy side but still yummy!
As I mentioned above, mh and I love the poke bowls. The tuna bowl is pretty spicy but so good. Every other bowl I’ve tried is great too. And you can build your own if you don’t see one you want.
The steak at red sticks is so good! I tried mine in a rice bowl and wasn’t disappointed.
I’ve had one bite of a friends brat from the brat place, and it really was delicious. If brats were my thing, I’d definitely eat there!
The dan dan pork noodle bowl at Monkey King is noodles at their best. So yummy! I’d skip the beef though.
The lobster rolls at the seafood place are good. The most bang for your buck comes with the trip option. You get 1.5 rolls for just a dollar or two more than one regular roll. I recommend this option. However, I don’t recommend the chowder. MH and I just don’t care for it. Maybe because it’s brother than we expect from a chowder? Not creamy enough?
DESSERT:
The house waffle at Press is amazing. Nutella, cookie butter, whipped cream, and strawberries on a liege waffle? Yes please!
The donut place is super popular, and while good, not my fave. I’d rather have desert at Press or the macaron place.
The macarons are perfection. Last time I tried a macaron ice cream sandwich for the first time. I wasn’t sure how the macaron would hold up with the ice cream. I was worried for nothing! Omg. It was so good. I’m not sure how I’ll choose between that or a waffle next time.
My daughters’ favorite dessert stop is berry naked. They love their popsicles! And if you buy four to go, they’ll send you home with a nice thermal bag to keep them fresh for your trip. We live in Rockwall. It’s a good 40 minute drive on a good day. They made it...
Read moreOkay, my wife and I went on Friday just before noon on 5/16/25. Initially when we walked in the scene was impressive but we were surprised that there was no directory for the eateries with a quick synopse as to the types of cuisine at each establishment with an pre-oriented map, so you could walk directly to the restaurant that sounds good to you. To me every entrance should have a directory like that provides current orientation, list of shops, bathrooms and such. This is not an innovation as mall type facilities have been providing these directories from the beginning of time... Lol.
I ate at Chef Chins Hibachi Ramen. I ordered the "Grilled Steak (Tonkotsu broth, hibachi NY strip, egg, bean sprout, scallion). I added Shrimp. I thoroughly enjoyed it! It was really very good. I mean I can't wait to go back and eat there again. My wife ended up going to Dock Local and had the Garlic Lobster Fries and the Fish & Chips. She also enjoyed her food very much. We dined over at the Bar on the opposite end of the food court. Unfortunately the music was excessively loud and most of the music was a very hard thumping hip hop style music so it didn't take long to get very irritating. It was bad enough it almost ruined the our stay all together. In addition, it's already getting pretty hot outside and the temperature inside the food court was not pleasant. It was almost as if someone just failed to realize all together that it was hot outside and just failed to set the thermostat to a respectable temperature for when it's hot outside and there are that many BTU producing bodies hold up in a interior space like that. I am not sure who's responsible for the excessively hard driving music levels or the faint excuse for air conditioning in a getting hot Texas environment but they need to get it together. To me the vendors had it going on in there but the facility management was lacking! I was actually being gracious by giving it a 4star rating because I didn't want to sell the vendors short, but as far as the facility my top rating would be no more than a 2! I hope the next time we return they fix these issues. Neither of us had to use the restroom while we were there so I can't rate the cleanliness of the restrooms but I am afraid that I might have found something less favorable there to so it's probably better we didn't. In any case restaurant's (at least the two we patronized) were excellent and the others looked to all be on par! I would actually give them 5stars. But the facility must do better. The very loud pounding/punishing music level, and I typically like loud music and the hot interior are unacceptable, especially in Texas. This food court is among very high end shopping and decorum and it should...
Read moreThe food and atmosphere here are good, so the majority of people that eat here will likely enjoy their experience just as I have in the past. But a word of caution - don’t leave your food unattended for more than 30 seconds.
I got some water before my food arrived and ate about half of the food before I had emptied my water cup. I got up to get more at the fountain on the second level, which is also where my table was. But after filling the cup and returning to my table, the table was empty. I had seen someone walking away from my table in an all black outfit, but didn’t think much of it until I saw that my food was missing.
I thought I’d go down to the help desk on the first floor and see if there was a procedure around these things, like maybe promising re-training, looking at my receipt to confirm that I was even a customer, or even reviewing video footage to see whether I was making the whole thing up. So, I walked to the first floor help desk and informed the woman working there about the situation. She was just as bewildered as I was about the situation.
So, she radio’s over her manager through her walkie talkie and explains the story. No response. She waits. No response. As the silence stretches on, she gives me what looked like a kind of apologetic look and we laugh it off until the manager shows up a couple minutes later. She again explains the situation to the manager, this time in person, who then turns to me and says “So what do you want?” Caught off guard, I mention that I wasn’t sure if she or the Food Hall had a policy when this happens. Again, she hits me with “What do you want me to do about it?” And at this point, I realize that she probably wants to just be rid of me, as her tone is making it seem as if I were a nuisance, which I probably was in her otherwise peaceful day. So instead, I tell her the truth - that I just wanted to let someone know about it - and that I don’t necessarily “need” anything. With that, she gave a stiff apology and I walked off.
I want to reiterate that this is my third or fourth time here and that the staff prior to this point have been nothing but outstanding. There is a young man with longer black hair that, on a previous visit, was one of the best customer service reps I’ve ever interacted with. The woman with brown hair was also fantastic and commendable. I primarily hope that the staff in charge of clearing tables will wait to ensure that guest had actually left before clearing it, and that the manager in question will take a more understanding and actually apologetic tone when interacting with customers, just like her...
