Read moreHorrible experience twice, I gave them a 2nd chance. Now this post needs to be written. I have always wanted to try Amorino, as I am part Italian and love good gelato. Since Amorino is all over the world, I hoped it would taste like gelato in New York. Finally one day I walked in with my boyfriend. I was happy to see we were the only customers there so I went right to the counter, excited to sample flavors. I was never greeted, because a moment later the employee’s friend walked in behind me. They hugged and talked, meanwhile I was completely ignored. What struck me most.. was she started giving samples to her friend, made her a cone, and I was still ignored. Minutes later, I walked out. In shock and disappointment. I never said a word, because she was outright rude and clearly didn’t care. Months later, on my birthday - May 12th, I decided to give it another try. I was craving gelato and hoped it would be a different person at the counter. It was a weekday afternoon, again I was the only customer. I told the person it would be my first time trying Amorino, and said I was excited to see the flower art. I was given no greeting, no smile, and the person rang me up and asked what I wanted. I said I’d like to try the summer flavors.. advertised outside. The person rudely said I need to pay first and again asked what I wanted. I said that I didn’t know, until I sampled. I was confused. They seemed upset to be there and said again I need to pay first. I was so uncomfortable, I almost left. I then stated that it’s my birthday and I was hoping to bring some cheer into my day. At this point, I simply asked for a flower with both flavors advertised outside. I never tried anything and at this point didn’t want to. The person said “oh happy birthday, sorry if I’m in a horrible mood today and the cone art will be messy” then slapped on the gelato. It looked nothing like a flower. If I didn’t already pay, I would’ve walked away. These are the most unfriendly people and instead of bringing cheer, this place brought gloom on my birthday, in all honesty! The flavors were great but I couldn’t enjoy it. I was having a tough day, dealing with a flat tire and several things that is part of life, yet I was kinder than any...
Read moreI’m giving this place a 2 star because the staff was disgusting! They were rude. Very rude. I know it’s busy and the flavors may run out. But you don’t assume what a customer wants. My husband and I went in for our first time, and chose multiple flavors, the first 2 were mango and strawberry. The girl said she didn’t think it was enough to make rose. Well that’s fine, but he wasn’t finished picking his flavors. I picked 4 flavors and that was enough to make a rose. But my husband wasn’t done talking yet and she cut him off and said there wasn’t enough. She tried dismissing us so quickly. So I asked if my husband can get a refund for his cone since you can’t make his rose?? She said yea, then looked over at someone and then changed her mind and said I can put it in a cup if you’d like. My husband told her I want a cone. She compromised and said that’s fine I’ll put the cone on top. As she was scooping the sorbet my husband was going to tell her about the other flavors he wanted. He paid for it that way. And wants it that way. She went back and scooped off from the flavors she’d already packed on there and asked “what else do you want?” That was so unfair to us as first time customers. Or to anyone really. When she told us to wait because they didn’t have enough cones we waited and were very patient. So I was really surprised we were treated that way. Also, they advertised their espresso and make it look so large. But then it ends up being a small cup. Not even a cup, it’s literally a shot glass. I can afford it no problem. But honestly, this place is expensive for the serving size they offer. The ice creams and sorbets are good. The flavors are on point. Mango seems to be number one. Everyone there was asking for it. So that’s a plus. They also have macaroons, which are so small and they’re like $2.60 a piece!!! Literally a bite size. Not worth it. Make em at home if you can. So yea, kinda pricy but, if you don’t mind paying $5.09 for a small cone then you’ll enjoy the...
