Oki Japanese Grill - Sushi & Hibachi — Restaurant in Plano

We really enjoyed our lunch at Oki Japanese grill! The menu and signs, all over the place, are a little overwhelming, especially since it all looks delicious! It took us a few minutes to figure out exactly how/what to order, but that's also because they have so many choices.

The main choices that you have for your meal are; a sushi roll, hibachi or teriyaki, or a noodle bowl. Plus, they have a HUGE selection of sushi including some special ones that you will only find at their restaurant.

We each had a hibachi bowl, one with shrimp and one with beef, both with fried rice. We also shared a sushi roll which was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend the sunshine roll. Everything else looks so delicious, we will definitely be back. We did notice that they had a 2 for $10 lunch special. But we didn't take advantage of that because we wanted to try some of the bigger dishes.

The restaurant is super clean inside. It probably has enough places for about 20 to 30 people to sit. Anything you order from here would be definitely good for takeout or delivery. The staff was super friendly and asked us several times if they could help us navigate the menu and the choices because it was a bit overwhelming. I'm really excited about the selection of food they have here. It would probably take us 15 visits to even get through the top item on our "need...

Very disappointed in the way the lady at the register treated me I placed a order Togo for chicken fried rice to go at the counter the lady immediately started watching me as if I was there to steal even though I just paid for my food I left not checking my to go order went to work opened It there is literally maybe 7 little pieces of chicken so I went back to show her immediately she starts yelling at me to purchase more chicken even though for the first 5 minutes she never even looked in the bag to check food not one time did she look at my food after her yelling at me and forcing me to take a refund i never asked for i just wanted what i ordered then she refused to give me my TIP back i wouldnt recommend this place and yes i took pictures no i didn't eat a bite and she kept refusing to let me speak to anyone else but her she kept saying she was the owner I believe that was a lie along with her saying her name was grace I truly doubt it.... update she went to my CC and added herself...

Never have I experienced a restaurant that better fits its name. Everything my group tried at Oki Japanese Grill was, exactly as the name says, overwhelmingly ok. My wife had the Butterfly Kiss sushi roll, my friend the Beef Hibachi Bento, and I the Bulgogi Fried Rice Bowl. The Butterfly Kiss roll was very aesthetically pleasing but a bit on the small side. Decent balance of flavors but nothing really jumping out as good. The Beef Bento was better on the portion size but overall fairly bland, with the steak lacking much flavor at all. My Beef Bulgogi bowl was, again, passably ok, with the bulgogi having an odd aftertaste my buddy described as "similar to old feet". The fried rice was tasty enough but had this massive black pepper flavor that overpowered everything else. Overall, I expected more for the price and most likely won't be returning.
