If you love crab and shrimp boil, this is your place. This restaurant uses market price for 4 to 5 crab varieties and shrimp. So be prepared to pay a little extra for a nice Louisiana experience in Plano, TX.
Not only do they have boils, but they have wings, burgers, catfish and other items at affordable prices.
I recommend the boils. Choose between either one of the 4 to 5 crab varieties or shrimp. Each comes at a 1 lb or 1.25 lbs. The shrimp comes in a 1lb as well, this includes the shell. You can pay extra to have them do it, but that is not worth the experience.
Next choose your spices. Lemon Pepper, Cajun, Garlic or Kitchen Sink which includes all of them. Go for Kitchen Sink. Get it all.
Next choose your heat level. Mild, Medium, Hot, Diablo. I normally eat Dave's Insanity Sauce. So, this was like eating regular black pepper for me. My wife said, it was warm, but bearable. Remember, most of the seasoning is on the shell and not the meat. But you can sure dip it in the sauce if you want.
Next choose your sides. These cost extra. EXTRA. Most people think they come with the boil for free. Nope. So, you can get broccoli, corn, rice, potatoes, sausage and a few other items. Prices vary, but 2-4 dollars.
Those get put in a bag, boiled and delivered to you with shell cracker, some fancy shell separator, tray, waste bucket and a bib.
Next, appetizers. I don't like hush puppies, but these were pretty good. I recommend the Crab Tators. Yeah. Go for it. Be careful. They charge extra for sauces, I think about a dollars that were not explained or seen on the menu. You will get 6 hushpuppies or crab tators. So, sharing is caring.
They have a good selection of liquors. They don't do mix drinks that require a blender because they did not have a blender. The have some draft and local beers. It was a dollar off during happy hour. They have specialty drinks, but I think most of them are stirred or shaken. 10-12 dollars per drink.
This is highly recommended for first dates. Because it can get messy, but teamwork is needed.
Staff is great. While eating, I got carried away and spilled a sauce packet. They were kind and helped out greatly.
Also, just because. Try the hand washing station. You insert your hands in this washer, it sprays for 12 seconds and you are instantly clean. Love it.
If you want desserts. Go for it. There are a few, but we were...
Read moreI’m a frequent customer at this establishment and today everything about the visit was unsatisfactory. My husband suggested this location for my birthday for a party of 13.
My husband ordered appetizers for the table as well as the half & half oyster/shrimp starter. Not until all the other appetizers came out did he learn that the order could not be fulfilled. He was never given the option for a substitute.
The food was all under seasoned, cold, and 4 of the individuals in our party did not receive their food until 20 min after the rest of the party. We asked the server multiple times how much longer it will take for the remaining orders and we were continuously told that certain food takes longer. It was a chicken sandwich, grilled shrimp, the fisherman’s platter (which 2 others had the same thing and received their’s) and a crab boil. My husband ordered extra sausage and eggs with his boil that after asking for the items twice he simply requested that it be removed from the bill.
When the rest of the party’s food still didn’t come out I asked to speak to a manager. When the manager trainee came over, he offered an insincere apology and an excuse for our experience that they were changing shifts and sometimes they get overwhelmed. All the while all the other tables around us that came in after ours received their food and our table was still waiting.
No one in our party was satisfied with their meal which was evident to all the staff because none of the party finished their meals and we all came home and ate again.
We did not ask for any discounts, or concessions based on our experience nor was anything offered.
I grew up working in the hospitality industry and now own a business in this same arena. As previously mentioned, we were without a doubt unsatisfied with our experience however no one on site seemed to care enough to try and save the embarrassment and avoid the risk of losing a...
Read moreThe waitress extra tipped herself. Even after we crossed off the extra tip portion and signed and put the total amount. The system "went down" when it was time to put our order in. Somehow, the 4 tables that got there after us got their orders in and to the table before ours. 2 of those were also 8 or more. About 30 mins after we were told by the waitress, the system was down, so our order wasn't put in.... our table had to share 2 sets of clamps. A drink was spilled and spread all over the bottom of the tables. No one cleaned it or brought us rags to do it ourselves. We were not checked on until We asked for refills. We asked for no pickles, tomatoes, etc. On some plates, they all were still there. If the tip wasn't already included, we would definitely not have left one. Called and spoke to the manager who claims it was because the ticket was split and someone's tip didn't go through, so they added it to mine. mind you, we never asked for it to be split. I had gone up to pay for everyone before our ticket was brought. We had asked for a refill and the check and nothing... I confirmed with the other half of our table, and they were also charged extra tip. Yet the manager says he vouches and says it was an honest mistake. The waitress didn't extra tip herself. 🤔 but if my sisters ticket did have the gratuity taken off and so did mine, how did we both get charged extra even though we crossed it off and put the total?!? He contradicted himself at the end. Saying they added their gratuity to ours.... very disappointing first experience. We will not...
