Came here once a few years ago but wasn't impressed enough to return. Wife was reading the menu and wanted to try, so we did. We had the combo (house special?) pan fried noodles, beef chow fun with gravy and japanese tofu with mushrooms.
The Japanese tofu was good, but not quite what we were expecting, skin was a little thicker/tougher than I like, but the flavor was good. The chow fun was good, but my wife thought there was not enough gravy for that style. The pan fried noodles was good, several different meats, and plenty of it. The noodles were a little more chewy than I like, but seems like each place uses different kind of noodles.
Each dish was a little more than at some of the other nearby Cantonese places, such as First BBQ, Lucky City, etc. However, I think you get a bit more, so maybe worth it. For example, the pan fried noodle dish had way more meat than you would get at First BBQ.
Service was good, but we were the only ones there when we ordered. It was a little late for lunch, but every time we drive by there are never many cars, which never gave me incentive to want to come here.
So overall, it costs more than some other places (they also charge for rice), but you probably get more, so I think it's ok. I'll definitely be back to try...
Read moreOrdered Beef Chow Fun, BBQ Pork/Roast Duck Noodle Soup and Chicken Egg Roll.
Beef Chow Fun was just alright. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ It could use more wok hei & it tastes a little bland. The best part: beef itself was nice and juicy.
BBQ pork & roast duck noodle soup. ⭐️ ⭐️ BBQ pork could be sweeter and it was dry. Roast duck tastes a little stale. I have a feeling both were cooked previous day. Noodle texture was good but broth was bland. The bak choy they use as garnish was overcooked. I wouldn’t order this dish again.
Chicken Egg Roll ⭐️⭐️. It was rather bland, dry, yet quite oily. It’s an afterthought & forgettable dish.
I give overall 2 stars because they also charges 3% if we pay using credit card. Very antiquated business model - it shows how the restaurant owner is being thrifty - which is apparent with the way they executed the dishes.
I don’t think I will...
Read moreGreat service and great waiters. I rate the food bbq pork 4/10 Crispy noodle 7/10 Salt and pepper squid 4/10 Sizzling beef 5/10 Combination fried rice 9/10
I could taste the oil being old in the fried food like it is on the fried squid. Squid also didn’t have much salt or pepper on a salt and pepper squid Bbq pork was cold, pork was also very tough to chew (over cooked) Everything has this similar bitter oil/sauce taste Only thing we enjoyed was the combo fried rice, crispy noodle wasn’t too bad either. I’d come back and try different food in a different time. Came around 6pm. Pretty dead no one other than door dash and Togo orders. Waiters very attentive and pay attention to make sure you have everything you need. Very nice people. But sadly today the food wasn’t that great.
P.s. I’d like to come back and try the...
