I've been going to Taco Delite for nearly my whole life, and this particular location always gets their food and menu right! Taco Delite's staple: Soft or Crunchy Tacos, both nicely filled with adequate amounts of meat, and the usual suspects of shredded iceberg lettuce, Grated fresh Cheddar (No Cellulose/Bagged Cheese), and nicely petite diced fresh Tomato. Ask for Supreme, and you'll get a dollop of Sour Cream for a few cents more. If you need a quick Mexican fix, you can't miss at Taco Delite!
I grew up going to the original Taco Delite locations off 15 Street in Plano some 35 years ago, the Independence location gets the authentic, original Salsa taste down!
The West Plano location off Coit Rd can't quite get the Salsa consistency right as this location does. I do wish they'd serve them in the usual 2 oz. portion cups as opposed to the sealed bags, which are more difficult to open without needing a pair of scissors. All that aside, the taste and consistency is 10/10 OG Taco Delite. Real Planoite's know what I'm talking about.
I order Tacos, Burritos, Nachos, and Taquitos on the regular. The flavors are great, nicely priced, and portions for the price are fair. I'll always be a loyal Taco Delite customer, Taco Bell or Taco Bueno can't touch their...
Read moreStopped in here because I was told that everything was hand-made. The food was average, at best, and not hand-made. Maybe hand-assembled is a better term. The salsa came in a container so small it could not be used for dipping the chips in, and the salsa itself was only average, if not a bit below average. One bright spot: I ordered a burrito with rice & beans. When I was only served the burrito, and pointed it out to the customer service clerk, I was told that the burrito combo (Which I did not order) only came with the burrito itself. I said "OK", and went to sit down. The clerk, a few minutes later, brought me a cup of rice & beans at no charge. I thought that was pretty excellent. So, in summary--good customer service, good people, good atmosphere. The establishment was clean and well-lit. The soda fountain and other facilities were very good. The food, however--just average. I'm not saying I won't go again, but I am saying that it won't ever be my first choice. That said, for what it is--a fast-food taco joint--it's probably a...
Read moreThis is about the ridiculous high prices exclusively. For a little bit over $33, (for 2 adults) it will buy you 3 bean burritos, Bean tostado, Chicken Fajita burrito, taco burger, small drink and cup of water. I repeat over $33. Not only is the competing fast food joints much cheaper but you can go to many many many, Mexican restaurants and dine for 2 cheaper. In addition, get free hot chips and salsa. The other Taco Delite in Plano on 15th St. much cheaper as well as the Wylie Hwy 78 location. The prices at this location haven't always been this bloated. This surprise and shock of this visit was from ordering what we wanted, rather than look at the expansive menu board overhead. And when I heard the price from the cashier, I was in a total state of confusion. It took a moment to regain my composure. Anyway, they got me this time, but NEVER again! Goodbye Taco D at 15th and Independence. Hope it...
