This is the first review I've EVER written in any format. After our ridiculous experience this evening, I'm ready to commit.
We went to Pho Que Huong on 15th St at 9:15 pm on a Saturday. While still eating at 9:40, they turned off the lights and TV in the front half of the restaurant. The whole crew of 6 came out in their jackets and sat, watching us eat from one row of tables away, and speaking at full volume among themselves. It made us very uncomfortable and totally ruined our meal. They rushed us out, followed us out the front door, with the lights off and doors locked before 9:55 pm.
If the restaurant does not stay open until 10 pm, the sign on the front door and all online advertisements should not say it stays open until 10. If we had known this would happen, we would have gone somewhere else. Either change the advertised hours, or actually stay open until 10 without staring down customers in the process. Until then, we see no reason to return. This is unfortunate because we really like the food. But with so many restaurants to choose from that do not ruin our uncommon and increasingly expensive dining experience, it's only fair. What would you do?
By the way: The atmosphere was appalling! Before turning off the intrusively loud TV's, they were blasting generic "pro" wrestling from an obscure cable channel such that we could barely hear each other from across the...
Read moreIt’s a shame when a place with good food has bad service.
I’ve ordered pick up here multiple times and 99% of the time my order is ready and has been for about 5-10 minutes ahead of my scheduled time. So I decided to head there early in anticipation of this. Who knew this would be such an issue.
I get there. Immediately get attitude from the front lady telling me it isn’t time. (I’m about 10 min early) and I ask if I can wait inside. She gets someone else and what they’re trying to explain is that they have received the order but have not started/accepted it. So I’m trying to figure out if they’re telling me there is a possibly that they won’t accept it but the language barrier makes it hard. A customer tries to help translate and the an eventually says they will get started on the order. But then they started cussing me out in Vietnamese (I only know a few words). And they slammed things around me and were visibly upset that I was there.
I get that I was partially at fault but I asked if I could wait and was prepared to wait elsewhere if needed. Instead, they choose to trash talk you to your face and be difficult to work with.
Don’t worry, won’t happen again! I’m sure the feeling in mutual. They’ve got great authentic food but I’ll be driving elsewhere for...
Read moreExcellent Beef Pho!!! Are you Pho~natic? I certainly am! Stopped in to try Pho Que Huong and I was NOT disappointed! Down to business staff with no frills, but still friendly. I ordered a large Eye Round, flank and tendon pho. Quickly received a generous bowl of aromatic beef Pho with the plate of traditional additions of bean sprouts, sliced jalapenos, cilantro, basil and a wedge of lime. First off, tasted the broth which was very flavorful, clear and piping hot. Generous rice noodles garnished with red and green onions. Combined all the additions into it and enjoyed ever bit of it. Very satisfying and not at all heavy which is what I like about Pho. The restaurant itself is very simple and clean with additional space . Very comfortable. Glad to see there were people waiting to go in to have Pho. Give it a try!
FYI: I am not compensated in any way by this business and I gladly pay for any food/services. I'm sharing my opinion freely and hope you will have a good experience with...
