Pretty terrible experience from arrival to departure. Despite having a reservation, we waited nearly 15 minutes to be seated and then were seated at the table right in front of the front door. Constant blasts of cold air from people coming and going and standing around our table waiting to be sat or to get to the host stand for take out orders, throughout our meal. Once sat, it took more than 15 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge us and finally take our order. We were never given salt and pepper shakers and our flatware was dropped on the table as soon as the host saw our appetizers being delivered. The appetizers were good, although under seasoned (fried calamari). Half way through our apps, the main course arrived and my baked ziti was burned and dried out (see photo) and my husband’s calzone was missing pepperoni. The waiter explained that although the menu showed pepperoni in the calzone, it actually had to be requested at the time of ordering it. He never mentioned this when we ordered it or offered an option for “add-ons” like pepperoni. They made a new one for my husband while I picked at my ziti. I didn’t eat half of it yet the waiter never asked me about it or checked on my order. When the busser cleared our dishes they asked me how it was and I said it was burned and dried out. He apologized and took it away. We waited another 15-20 minutes for our waiter and I finally got up and went to the back to ask for take out containers for the food we wanted to take home (antipasto and remaining half of replacement calzone) and asked someone to find our waiter and ask him to bring us our check. Another 10 minutes later and our check arrived with full charge for everything we ordered including the incorrect food and the burnt pasta that wasn’t eaten. We paid and left. Overall terrible experience, will not be returning. We must have been there on an off night based on other reviews I’ve seen for this place, but still there were too many things mishandled for us to spend another $75 (and this is a BYOB establishment) on a poor experience when there are so many great restaurants in the DFW area.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem recently, we were driving around and the outdoor dinning area caught our eyes.. As we are walking in we are greeted with such hospitality and made us feel with high hopes for this place, very cozy and warm inside with a beautiful atmosphere and paintings on the wall. My wife and I ordered some appetizers, got some calamari, some spinach bread and complimentary garlic bread... all I can say is , everything was delicious, the complimentary garlic bread with butter was fresh, home made, and big lol very flavorful, the calamari was fried to perfection and juicy, especially with the marinara sauce and lemon 😋. But the spinach bread was the the Star 🌟 of the appetizers, very cheesy and creamy, and the bread was toasted to perfection. For our main course, my wife got the pesto pasta with chicken and it was very creamy and fresh, the flavor was immaculate. I myself got the tour of Italy because I wanted to try a variety of stuff. It comes with fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmigiana. Everything on that plate was a mouthful and kept me wanting more after each bite... out of those 3 the fettuccine was the winner 🏆, very flavorful, creamy, with a hint of sweet in it and you can taste it was made from scratch. They have a variety of drink menu, wine, and coke zero, etc, but the strawberry lemonade is the go to and freshly squeeze, also they can make it zero sugar. For dessert 🍨... the TIRAMISU was the cherry on top for this place... the second place in my whole life that I've had a good tiramisu, this place is as fresh and sweet and delicious as it can get 😋 it hold dear to my heart lol, that's when I knew I had fell in love with this place. I highly recommend this Gem 💎, don't sleep on it. I will most definitely be coming for more 😌.

I really enjoyed this little family owned Italian place. As soon as we walked in the door the owner Luis came right up to us and talked with us for atleast 7 to 8 minutes while the staff cleaned up a table for Mt husband and I to sit. It's very nice inside and I love the leaning tower of Pisa they have placed on the middle of the seating. It really sticks out when you walk in the door. The food was on point. I never know if I want white or red sauce when I have Italian food and here I don't have to choose. They have a meal you can get called The tour of Italy and it hS 3 different things on the plate to eat including alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. You get a lot of food and the prices are amazing. I always ha e leftovers and can eat three meals from this plate alone. I must rave about their mushrooms from the appetizer menu. I recommend highly. You will be thinking about these mushrooms for weeks after you have a taste. The fresh rolls they bring to the table are wonderful and you get a basket of different types of rolls to try. The service could have been a little better I think the waiter forgot we existed but honestly I have no complaints on the food. Plus the owner made us feel so welcome I was happy with my experience over all. My husband got the seafood combo pasta and it was an excellent dish as well. He always makes sure that I have a taste of his food too. We went the Saturday before Father's day and dad's were eating free for a few hours that day. I thought that was sweet and thoughtful since a lot of places don't do those types of gracious complimentary meals these days. Nothing is for free.

Ease at getting in on a friday night 5/5 On the same day, set reservation online for 7:15 friday night Got there at 7 and was seated in a booth right away

Ambiance 3/5 It was crowded so a lot of noise of people talking and didn't even notice music playing until just before we left. This isn't really a criticism of the place because I am happy they are busy. Just not MY normal like for eating out.

For the most important part, the food 3.5/5 started with fried calamari and it was good although it didn't have the white sauce that I like so I ate it dry but still good and would order again. Ordered the garlic bread with no cheese. That wasn't the best I have had because it was very dry and really lacked flavor. Wouldn't order again. The main course was great. I had the rigatoni alla vodka and it was hot and tasted great. Certainly, something I would order again.

Service 3/5 After being seated took about 5 mins for someone to even come to the table to start our service but like I mention it was busy. The young man did his job but that was it. He was not much for asking how we were or really just saying hi but he was not rude. He took our drink order and I ordered the calamari and garlic bread at that time. I didn't keep track of the time so wont say it was long but to get our drinks certainly wasn't quick. When we got the drinks we ordered our main meal. That is the last time I saw the young man until we were ready to get the check. Someone else brought our calamari and about 20 minutes later (I did "time" that) someone else brought our meals and that was the first time we were asked if we needed a refill on our drinks. We got our refill but never got the cheese for the pasta. After our meal (which I repeat was very good) we finally saw our server and I just asked for to go boxes and our check. This time he was quick with the boxes and check but took a bit of time to come back and pick up the check and card (at this time the place was not as busy). However he was back in a flash with receipt.

Will probably try the place again with hope for a different server as I saw others going to their tables a lot...

  1. This restaurant and food are not truly Italian. The chef, all the cooks, and the arrogant part owner, Luis, have no Italian descent. They are from Mexico, or have Mexican descent, which seems to greatly affect the taste and smell of authentic cuisine (regionalism, traditional, and/or cooking) vs an imitation. Most of the food is NOT prepared in house, but store bought. 2) There is a higher percentage of worker turnover here. About seven employees have left the company within five weeks, for whatever reasons. Not a Good Sign! Having some knowledge about the restaurant industry, I recognize Little Rome routinely hires new workers who may be naive about the potential unfair work policies and practices. While the servers work for tips, this restaurant increases the servers’ role and workloads for a server wage of $2.13 hrly. 3) There are managers/lead servers, regularly engage in potential unequal employment opportunities. These managers routinely manipulate tables or sections while newer servers may be helping with other tasks or smaller sections. There is a SUSPICIOUS, CONSISTENT PATTERN of managers/lead servers making more income than their subordinates. I am sure any audit will raise a concern! In other situations, managers like to use the excuse of guests being their “regulars”. This should not be tolerated, as it not only impacts the guests’ experience, but may arouse the perception of incompetence towards other hired and trained servers. Furthermore, guests rarely care who serves them, as long as they get good service. 4) There is potential Nepotism or favoritism here. There are three managers who each currently have their children work for the company, in which they directly supervised. 5) Lastly, auto gratuity here is discretionary, and reflects a pattern of prejudice and discrimination based on who is not likely to leave a tip, especially if the service was mediocre. Usually, while with a small group of guests, I decided to do separate checks, which seemed to have circumvented...
