Pizza so good, it just made Texas feel like home.
I’m that girl who books restaurant reservations before I even book the hotel. The one who once went to New York and hit eight top-rated pizza spots in three days. In Naples, my heart belongs to Gino e Toto Sorbillo.
So when my husband and I moved to Texas, I’ll be honest—leaving the city (and our beloved American-Italian spot, Bar Sugo) was a big heartbreak. We were concerned. Could Texas possibly deliver? Well… the answer is a resounding YES. The search is over, friends. I’ve found the one.
I’ll admit, I judged when we drove past the location—big mistake. Because what came out of that oven was worth every single penny. If you value quality, run—don’t walk—to try this place.
We ordered the Plano Cheese with smoked brisket burger crumble (INSANELY good), ricotta (could be whipped, but still tasty), Kalamata olives (perfect) & finished with Hot Honey. Next time? I’m adding fresh basil for that extra pop. And the crust… ohhh the crust. Perfectly proofed, crispy, airy, and straight-up addictive.
If I’m nitpicking, it could’ve been served a smidge hotter—but the flavor? Out of this world. This isn’t just pizza, it’s destination pizza. THANK YOU for making Texas feel...
Read moreTo be clear I mostly eat Asian food and less of a pizza connoisseur due to past experience of bloating and acidity from sauce. UNTIL WE FOUND THIS PLACE. Changes my perception immediately the moment I walked in to the restaurant. Menu is simple yet lots of options and combos on top of that. You can come here once a week and it probably take you months to explore all the combos. We had pork belly burnt end pizza and pepperoni combo. First bite was an oh shit (holy airball for those who is younger) moment. Thin crust crispy outside, airy yet moist and aren’t dried out inside, that perfect crunch sound that can be heard across the street, at least in my opinion. Base sauce isn’t overwhelming and doesn’t tase acidity at all, toppings are amazing. See people eating and smiling? Maybe that’s why. The owner, Yolanda then greeted us and explained the whole process to achieve this balance (you might need to go hear her out yourselves) This bit here is important for those who thought the have gluten issue, their flour is imported from Italy which explains the not bloating after eating. Their accolades of state fair favorites lined up the wall to back the proof and it’s truly an amazing local...
Read moreI’m so happy we have a neighborhood pizza place that understands what it means to run a great restaurant. Great food, good atmosphere and such friendly and kind service from all!
I’ve ordered multiple times and went with friends last evening. Their dough reminds me of the bread I ate in Avellino Italy, when I was stationed there in the 1980’s (and have been back a few times since). The crust on their pizza is perfect! The pizza is wonderful. I’ve tried two types and enjoyed both. I grew up in the Catskill mountains of NY and my friend’s parents owned what is still talked about as the best pizza in NY at the time. This pie is so close to that. If you enjoy thin crusted pizza, you must try this! Go early and eat in. The crunch is wonderful. Also, very good Cesar dressing for the salad and that tiramisu was absolutely fantastic—light, creamy, perfectly balanced. A real standout that capped the meal in delicious style. Highly recommend it! Our new...
