Food was delivered very prompt. Customer service just doesn’t exist here. #1 I work in the medical field with COVID back on the rise you should never request a customer to bring food back into the restaurant after delivery. #2 After spending $30 bucks on a lunch special, 4 pieces of crab Rangoon, and a order of shrimp fried rice you would think the owner would acknowledge the fact that your food was over cooked. Literally burnt. I have never been treated so badly after patronizing a business. I ONLY ordered from here because they placed a flyer at my house I decided to try it. Bad idea. The older women was rude and never apologized about my food being cold she treated me as though I was beneath her, never making eye contact, and only speaking Spanish when my primary language is English. She even made sure that when she replaced my food that was burnt she gave me only 3 pieces because I ate 1 of the 4 pieces of crag rangoon. As a business owner myself I felt no type of empathy or sympathy for my concern at all. I will never visit this establishment again. I literally almost broke down in tears because of horrible I was treated as a BLACK WOMEN with a bachelors degree and multiple businesses. If you value customer service DO NOT EAT HERE. Food...
Read moreAs a Chinese person, this place cooks Chinese food with superb ability. Even though it's not 100% authentic food that you'd find in mainland China, so what? It's Chinese-American fare in the same way that New York pizza and meatballs are decidedly Italian-American fare.
As for the food itself, it's delicious. The wonton soup, for instance, is the best iteration of the soup that I've had at Chinese-American restaurants around DFW. It has a nice deep flavor and complexity to the broth. All of the food here is executed to perfection. Dishes like the beef mushroom and egg foo young have a finesse to them. They're not just a pile of one-dimensional food thrown on a plate like some other similar establishments. Instead, it's these Chinese-Americsn dishes with an unparalleled depth of flavor that reveals a chef who understands some fundamental Chinese techniques.
Weirdly enough, the overall atmosphere and feel of of the place is remarkably similar to a small family-owned Chinese restaurant you might find on a corner in Shenzhen (which I've been in). The service here is nice, and the...
Read moreSo the last time I ordered from the mango’s was years and years ago and I don’t remember being very impressed with it. It had been a while but tonight I wanted some Chinese food before the holiday. The favor app had a promo going on so I decided to take advantage of it. I do feel like after a second time around my opinion has changed, and definitely appreciate the restaurant throwing in free egg rolls with my order. I did get the chicken chow mein, however, and was confused where the chow mein or noodles were (?) and felt like it did have too many onions. But other than that, with the free egg rolls and the affordable pricing and decent portions, I was pleasantly surprised. I probably won’t get the chow mein next time but there’s plenty of other types of food to get. Nothing to rave about tbh but it is simple enough to hit the Chinese food craving while also ensuring there’s enough to feed my family. My food was fresh and hot when it arrived, and they were quick. Seems like a small business too run by Latino/Mexican - which I respect - so please...
