The Taco Joint Plano — Restaurant in Plano

Always looking for the perfect breakfast taco, we tried this place early on a Sunday morning. The bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast tacos were above average, bordering on very good. The side sauces were excellent. The issue we had was with the preparation of the rest of the breakfast.

There was a lot of confusion over what should have been a simple process. The order for the two-breakfast taco combo went in wrong, and we were unable to straighten it out. When we asked for what the menu said should have come with the meal, we just got a second incorrect variation. Originally the side serving of potatoes was missing. When they corrected that they took away the other side dish. That logic was hard to follow.

The other issue was with the Cannonball breakfast quesadilla. Of the four large pieces, two pieces had all of the meat and the other two had no meat at all. Rebuilding the quesadilla after delivery was a messy prospect.

Bottom line, when you go to an upper end taco place there's an expectation of above average execution. We missed out on that during our visit. But based on the breakfast tacos alone, we'll likely go back for lunch some time and give this place...

High priced - not worth it. The Burrito tastes like the smell of wet dog. I could not eat it. I gave it to my dog and she would not eat it. We were not impressed with on our first visit. Fake customer service. My wife simply asked the man a question, since it was our first time there. The man took a deep annoying breath and rolled his eyes and reluctantly answered her question. This angered me, I boldly informed him, "Sir sorry for the inconvenience of all my wife's questions, but this is our first time here". We ordered a few items, at that time, we happen to be the only ones in the Joint, We felt un welcomed as though he wanted to hurry us up and get rid of us when he quickly stated "that will be $$$" --his clue to us that he was done serving us... I literally had to interrupt him him and say "Hold on Sir, we are not done ordering yet, we also would like 2 beef tacos with that ".. We got bad vibes at this place.. My wife and I had our weekend grub cloths on. Please treat each customer with respect, you never know who you are dealing with, what social status they have....

This place is THE BOMB. Chiloso who? Chipotle who? These tacos are DELICIOUS. My favorites thus are the bacon egg and cheese and the spicy pork, egg, and cheese. I add avocado, fresh onion and jalapeños. I get spicy ranch and tomatillo salsa. They also have this enchilada breakfast plate, their special cheese sauce is amazing. Their tiny crunchy but soft potatoes and ranch style refried beans, chef's kiss. The portion sizes are good, I always have food leftover for lunch, and the prices are even better. I lowkey almost didn't review because I wanted to keep this place to myself, but 'tis the season or whatever. Be nice to them, they're the last good and reasonably priced taco joint aside from Fuzzy's and Freebirds (the Taco Joint is better than both), with authentic flavors, plenty of salsas, sauces, and amazing service. I frequent the one in Plano, but I also see there is also one in Wylie. DON'T...
