The thrill is gone. My spouse and I have been going to Uni Sushi for over five years now, but just in the last couple of months we've noticed something different. We inquired about the head chef and we were told that Mr. Kang, the owner and chef, retired. My spouse and I are heartbroken! Over the years, Mr. Kang, his son, and others made us feel like family. Mr. Kang made every dish extraordinary and unique. He always greeted us when we came into the restaurant, and always wished us well when we left. Now, the food is just ordinary, the presentation unimaginative, and the service unremarkable. I would usually get the Chirashi Don, and Mr. Kang would include a sesame seed blend on the rice that really added flavor and texture. Also, every piece of sushi was uniquely shaped and creatively placed in the bowl. Not now! As you can see from the photo, not much thought went into the presentation, the fish was as thin as prosciutto, and no extras on the rice...just plain. Oh well! Maybe the current chef/owners have different ideas about their food and customer service. That's OK, but not for us. You never know how special something is until its gone. Mr. Kang and his family...

I love this place so much!! My SO and I have been coming here since COVID started and we’ve been nothing but impressed with their quality of food and service! All of their sushi rolls, from basic to fresh and tempura, are great sizes for the price and soooo delicious. It’s fun to try a new fresh or tempura roll every time we go, along with two basic rolls, and for 2 people we’re always super satisfied after every meal! Not to mention they always give a complimentary side, like edamame, miso soup, and sometimes a seaweed side dish. Every time we walk in for pickup, the chef greets us so genuinely and the atmosphere is so nice, we’re definitely looking forward to whenever we can dine-in safely in the future. I think only once when we called ahead right as they opened at 5PM we had to wait a while for our order (which they told us the estimated wait time and we agreed to wait because we love their sushi so much), but every single other time on a Saturday our order is ready in 15 minutes for pickup. It’s hard to try other sushi places because others can’t keep up with the taste, portion, and freshness of Uni Sushi so this place is...

Amazing sushi and nigiri! I’ve been waiting patiently for this restaurant to open for dine-in, and I saw that they did tonight. It’s a small restaurant in downtown Plano, so you’d have to park a bit away and walk over.

I was welcomed when I entered and seated right away. The menu looks clean but with a lot of options. The environment was very intimate (dark lighting) and chairs were super comfy.

My sister and I got a couple rolls, soft shell crab, some nigiri, chirashi bowl and smoked salmon tartare. Everything was delicious and huge!! The chirashi bowl looks exactly like the photos that I saw on Google, which is why I wanted it. The rolls were big and filling, and the nigiri has the perfect amount of rice-to-fish ratio. The salmon and octopus were really tasty too!

Overall, the food were great and I enjoyed my salmon nigiri so much! The fish are fresh and presentation was perfect. The only downside is that it took quite a while for the food to come out, like 25+ mins, which is why I took off one star. By that time, our appetizers already filled our stomachs up. Service was top-notch though. I’ll probably be...

Without question, this is the best sushi in Plano, likely in the larger Dallas area. The food is just fantastic. I was there with my friends and we ordered 8 different rolls: all amazing. I personally recommend the "Red Cannon Roll". The tempura rolls were light, crunchy and perfect. The decor attempts to be stylish and hip, but doesn't quite make it. There seems to be a black and white theme with the chairs? This is not the reason to go here. The service is a bit slow, but that is because your order is made right then and there, which means it's fresh and wonderful and that makes it a plus not a minus. Located south and east of downtown Plano, parking is minor issue. Use the lot by the Ice House or the lot behind he gazebo just off the downtown area, or if you're lucky you may snag one of the spots just off Ave. K. The picture is missing a piece. I ate one. It was delicious.
