Message to the owner (from another business owner)... Your server JoJo is costing you and your business lots of money...
Her attitude was absolute crap from the very beginning until the very end... Super condescending... And I would go as far as saying con like...
Her primary focus (from the moment we sat down) was to try to hustle my table to increase our tab... (If you really care about what's happening in your operation feel free to reach out to me and I'll give you details).
Giving waitresses and waiters the power to automatically charge gratuity (as in the case w us) empowers your staff with the ability to give bad customer service knowing that they're going to get a "20%" tip regardless... Bad business... Remove the ability for servers to auto-tip and let the waiters and waitresses earn their tips by giving great service... This is the natural function of the gratuity concept.
Super disappointing considering that I was celebrating my daughter's sweet 16 birthday... Unfortunately the experience was not so sweet.
Not what I expected at a price point of about $60 per person
Could have went anywhere else.
A beautiful day ruined that I'll never get back.
The only way that I'll ever return is the day JoJo is no longer working there.
Response to the owners reply:
It's pretty clear that your response is coming from a defensive place... That's ok.
I invite you to look at the other 1 star reviews that have been left on your Google profile by other customers regarding Jojo... Coincidentally they also align... Are those consumers also wrong?
With respects to your "it's not $60 for all you can eat it's $39" comment... Naturally it seems you are so engulfed in your reply that you chose not to understand... $60 was the average per person per head after all was said and done... I was not citing you're all you can eat price.
You should take the time to read and understand before responding.
Do you know that JoJo is telling your consumers not to drink the house tequila in their Margarita because it tastes bad, in an effort to upsell the premium tequila?? Who does that?? Or is that how you train them? You okay with that too?
There were two elderly individuals with us... One 82 year old and the other was 79 (whom did not know this was in all you can eat because they were simply guest of mine)... The 79 year old woman politely asked JoJo if she could have a small container to take home what small remnants were left (I could post a picture here of what was left on the table if you'd like?)... JoJo's response was rude... She could have simply politely advised the elderly person that this was an all-you-can-eat buffet and that no food could be taken home... But instead opportunistic JoJo decided to pounce on her and the entire table citing that she would be forced to impose a waste charge, and started pointing to each dish that had any small remnants on it, as if we were children.
Offended by her response I handed JoJo my card and advised her to charge me for whatever she thought was waste.
At the end of the day it's your business and naturally you will run it how you see fit.
As for calling you and having a one-on-one conversation about my experience, that's what Google reviews are for.
After an owner takes the time to respond to the Google review, the owners typically request a phone call at that time, not before.
Kindly note, this type of a response will only empower more bad behavior.
I guess you'll eventually figure it out as others after me also leave reviews... I'm certainly not the first consumer leaving a review on jojo... Just look at your other one-star...

Unfortunately, our experience at Prime K BBQ was extremely disappointing, mostly due to the unprofessional and unfriendly service we received from an Asian waitress (we believe her name was JoJo). From the moment we arrived, she showed no patience or willingness to assist, not even offering us water or explaining the menu, which is crucial in a Korean BBQ restaurant, especially for first-time visitors.
When I asked how many types of meat we could order per round, she rudely shushed me and replied loudly in front of everyone, which was completely uncalled for. Even though our entire family chose the most expensive "All You Can Eat" option, ordered multiple rounds of meat, two full bottles of sake, and several cocktails, we were treated like a burden.
The only bright spot of the evening was the bartender, who was kind and made an effort to check in with us occasionally. Thanks to her, we didn’t walk out early — especially since we had driven 30 minutes from Miami Lakes and had a hungry 10-year-old with us.
The worst part came after we were done eating, when the waitress warned us that if we didn't finish every single piece of food left on the table, we would be charged extra for "leftovers." We understand and respect anti-waste policies — not ordering more if you haven’t finished previous plates makes sense — but threatening us with additional charges after we were finished eating is completely unacceptable and aggressive.
To top it off, a 20% service charge was automatically added to the bill (understandable for large parties), but it felt insulting considering the poor service we received.
It’s truly a shame, because the restaurant has a nice ambiance and the food (except the fried rice) was mostly good. But the service ruined the entire evening. It’s no surprise the restaurant was nearly empty the whole time we were there.
The best part of the night was leaving. I sincerely hope this review helps other families avoid having their evening ruined like ours was. Do not waste your money here — it’s just...
Read moreThe dining experience, unfortunately, didn’t align with the price point. In my assessment, the offerings are significantly overpriced, attempting to position themselves as a luxurious dining experience, yet ultimately failing to deliver on that promise.
(1/10) We began with the breaded shrimp appetizer. Regrettably, the shrimp was both overcooked and dry, with only the complementary sauce providing any redeeming qualities—though it was served in such minuscule amounts that one might wonder if it was rationed to avoid an additional cost. The fried rice, though acceptable, was nothing remarkable; in fact, one could easily find comparable quality at a chain such as Panda Express at a fraction of the price.
The bulgogi beef was the highlight of the meal, well-marinated and flavorful. However, the portion size, consisting of only a handful of thin slices of meat for $28, left much to be desired. Given this price and the fact I’ll be the one cooking, I would have preferred the option of hosting a barbecue for friends instead.
(3/5) Turning to the service, the host was courteous and professional, and the gesture of the manager approaching our table was a nice touch. Unfortunately, this positive interaction was overshadowed by the demeanor of our server, who was rushed, pushy, and unhelpful, with an entitled and condescending personality. Their lack of attentiveness and professionalism further detracted from an already underwhelming experience.
(4/5) Regarding the atmosphere, the space, including the WC, was clean, with tasteful décor, though it did not quite meet the expectations of a high-end establishment. The music, unfortunately, was too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation with my dining companion.
(8/20) In conclusion, while there were some positive elements, the overall experience did not justify the price. It is a place that may need to reassess both its pricing strategy and service standards to better match the...
