It has been awhile since we dined at Vignetos Italian Grill, yet we found the food as consistently excellent as always. We had the Baked Clams for an appetizer, and they were deliciously prepared with fresh, whole clams. For our main courses, we enjoyed Shrimp Parmigiana which was delicious and large enough to feed an army as well as the Frutti di Mare, which featured super fresh seafood over pasta. We ended this lovely meal by sharing a creamy, tasty Tiramisu.
The reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 is due to the young lady who “greeted” us at the podium when we walked in. Yes, this restaurant was packed with locals, and we had a forty minute wait. And, yes, I am sure she was tired, even though they had just opened two hours prior to our arrival. However, the “greeter” must at least feign some enthusiasm for customers. Rather, she greeted us with exasperation, was impatient that I didn’t rattle off my phone number quickly enough, and when she did seat us, she was 20 steps ahead of us, never looking back to see the obstacles in front of us due to so many people. She put the menus on the table, threw us a quick smile, and hurried off without even an “enjoy your dinner.”
As an Italian, I am accustomed to a much warmer and politer ambiance, and it starts with the person that has initial contact with patrons.
With that said, the food was delicious, and Carlos our server was excellent! There is plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant. Just be prepared to wait a bit as Vignetos is...
Read moreWhat an amazing dining experience! Over this past weekend, I visited the Weston area. On my last night, I wanted a nice dinner at a restaurant in which I had not been to. During my search, I came across Vignetos. I had already purchased a ticket to a movie and the crazy thing, Vignetos was right next door to the theater. So it was perfect.
After my movie, I headed to the restaurant. The wait was less than 5 minutes and I was elated to see a fenrlwm playing live music. A few moments after being seated, , I was greeted by Ryan. From the first smiling hello, he was amazing and provided the most wonderful service. He also made quality suggestions for their wine and food options.
The menu was full of delicious options that it was hard to pick. But I was able to custom the seafood pasta which was so good, I packed it securely and brought it back on my flight home. Yes, it was that good.
I also tried the crab stuffed mushrooms which didn't make it home as I ate them that night. Everything was fresh and rich, especially the marinara sauce and oh, the garlic bread which came to the table.
I will definitely be back to try other menu items and highly recommend Vignetos, you...
Read moreExcellent service, our waiter was exceptional. The wait was short, and the ambiance was comfortably busy but not so loud as to drown out private conversation. The reisling wine was chilled and served with proper presentation and tasting. Our app of choice the portobello with balsamic and toppings including gorgonzola cheese and arugula, a satisfying flavor however the mushrooms were temprid and not hot off the grill. Our entrees were a well done frutti di mare on linguini, overflowing with seafood and excellent flavor, and a subpar veal saltimbocco. The veal was a succulent and a pleasantly thicker than expected scalopini, the cheese and prosciutto were perfect, however the dish fell apart at the sauce, it was soaking in a half inch of brown marsalla sauce that's unfortunate primary flavor was salt. I had to add a genourous amount of lemon to mask the salt. Our meal was finished off with the best cheesecake I have had in this area. Absolutely on our list of favorites however I will avoid the...
