Las Palmas Authentic Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Platteville

Let’s be honest. This absolutely is not good Mexican food. There is no seasoning aside from salt, fat, and generally way over ripe avocados. I ordered through door dash bc I normally cook, but wanted a break tonight. Door dash did what they should… picked up the food and dropped it off. Unfortunately, this restaurant left out an entire meal. So I called, only to be told I should call door dash bc the restaurant doesn’t deliver. I’m sorry, the restaurant makes the food and puts it together, the restaurant left out the meal. The manager said it was their fault, but I need to call door dash. There is a delivery fee and a tip for the driver.., so the manager wanted me to have them go do it for free or have me pay again bc the restaurant messed up? It gets better. He told me that I should pick it up and he won’t discount the cost of the door dash cost. I’m sorry, I paid in order to not pick it up or cook for a change, and the driver did their job. Then, this manager kept telling me I didn’t pay the restaurant. Whether I paid them directly or they received payment through door dash, they do not cook meals and hand them out for free to the entire community or the restaurant would not exist. They perform a service of making meals and are paid for said meals, but he kept stating I should pick it up, he wouldn’t call them, and they aren’t paid for the meals- door dash is. No… they get paid to drive, restaurant gets paid for the meals. No clue why this was so hard to understand, but I wasn’t about to feed everyone except one child. So, we picked it up. He essentially threw the food at us and ran. Lost 5 customers tonight. Unbelievable. How can u admit it was ur restaurants mistake, but then say everyone else should pay or it twice, and try to claim door dash is paid only, not them, they don’t get paid but don’t do it free? A few "Gingo" meals as well but haven't sampled those, why would I, its a mexican resturant and the Golden Arches are just across the street.

Cost: very reasonable for a "resturant". Appetizers from $3 basics to $10 Platters. Ala Carte Menu with many $1-$3 options Entrees from $5-$15 (most are about $7.50)

Quick service, I mean Very quick! Most times my food is infront of me within 5 minutes of ordering. I first thought this was because it was all fresh out of the microwave, but I doubt it. I have never had anything out of anyones microwave as tasty as their food.

Drinks are cheap and good with a full bar.

Wait staff is great, not hard to understand (no thick accents or low talkers) and seem truly happy you are there!

I am a guy who loves good food and cook a good deal myself. I have several friends in the food industry and know my way around. I have sampled the food from a lot of resturants, from $50 and up a person fine dining to the Golden Arches. The only Mexican resturant I have visted more authentic than this was one 20 miles this side of the border down in Arizona back in 98'. Las Palmas is darn close to that one.

Food was great but service was absolutely horrible! To start, the waiter forgot what we ordered to drink, twice, and had to send a different waiter over. My wife and I ordered our meals, the Platteville burrito w/ side of rice and beans for me and cheeseburger deluxe for wife. My order arrived without the rice and beans, I told waiter and was only brought rice, but charged for both. My wife was brought a burrito deluxe. When she told them she ordered a cheeseburger deluxe, they acted angry with us. When she finally received her burger after 2 other wrong items being presented, it was missing several ingredients and very sloppily put together. She was ignored when she asked to have the problem corrected. She was also charged $6 for her drink, which the menu stated was $3.50, and was told price changed but not update on menu... we were not once checked on or brought a refill, even after flagging down the waiter and asking. Explained the situation to guy who stated he was "in charge" and basically told us, " too bad we were out of luck" and he snatched the cash from my hand and pushed change back at me.
