Pizzeria Uno — Restaurant in Platteville

Last night’s dining experience at UNOS was profoundly disheartening, characterized by a glaring lack of service efficiency and an alarming disregard for customer satisfaction. My husband and I arrived at UNOS around 6:40 PM to find the restaurant relatively quiet. While we were promptly greeted and seated, our initial interaction with the server (Shiane) was efficient as she swiftly took our drink orders and food order. However, frustration set in as the 40-minute mark passed without our pizza arriving. We observed our pizza sitting on the bar, waiting to be delivered to our table, for a seemingly endless five minutes, while the bartenders appeared preoccupied with idle chatter. Despite multiple opportunities, our server neglected to bring our meal to us, opting instead to attend to a newly arrived group. Even after another five minutes passed and a second pizza was placed beside ours, it took considerable time for our server to finally deliver both pizzas to our table and the one behind us. Disheartened by the prolonged wait and disheartened by the lackluster quality of the food, we opted not to consume our pizza. The server, seemingly aware of her missteps, avoided returning to our table and neglected to inquire about our satisfaction with the meal. The pizza was amazing! We ordered 3 different pizzas and all were fantastic! I've been here before and was excited to go back. My only issue was the service. It was horrible, and that's being kind. Our server was interested in anything that did not involve doing her job. She sat at the bar and ate. She sat at the bar and played on her phone. She flirted with a guy sitting at the bar. Another employee was sitting at the bar with her feet on the stool beside her, while the bartender leaned against the bar with her back towards everyone in the room so she could talk to our server. We flagged for refills. We couldn't find her again for more refills until we wanted the check. We got up to leave and went to the restroom, which is downstairs, but the stairs down were blocked by a mop bucket, filled with water, and a mop. I asked if the restroom was downstairs in case the bucket was there to redirect to another area. I was told to go down to the restroom, but the person sitting with her feet up didn't bother to move the bucket for me but instructed me to push it aside! I'm not sure where the manager was or who was supposed to be in charge, but this is no way to run a business. I've owned a bar and been a server, so I'm sympathetic to the plight of the job. 9/23/23 use to use this as a persistent go to good pizza place. Last night was awful. Service and atmosphere was great. 6pm reservation and received food at 7;30. Had 2 larges split for our table of 6. One large was taco and half blt. They must of quit using taco chips. We had no clue what side was what. No problem we worked around the loss of chips and taco sauce. The other large was canadian bacon and pineapple with other side sausage/fresh mushrooms/black olives/onions. It came to us with Canadian bacon and pinapple no cheese with other half onions/gr peppers/gr olives/ sausage. We were not really complaining until the pizza came like that. 20 mins before it came out the waitr3was almost crying and apologized multiple times. How do u run a business like that?
