I recently moved to PG and was told to try this place. I quickly became a regular because of how easy the online ordering is and because it is on the way home (I'm almost definitely sure they will recognize my name). Recently, maybe over the past two months i have stopped going here due to the quality and quantity of the food. It seems to be dependent on the people that are working that night. You can usually expect things to change slightly at a restaurant if it is busy, but in my opinion the managers should all have the same expectation of the employees and should be overseeing that the food goes out the same way every time.
If i eat here, it is at the same time every day. But a while back i noticed that the food portions and quality would change drastically each time. And that was true even when i would shamefully eat the same thing from here almost every day of the week. I would get less fries, smaller chicken, less sauce, ect. The only changing variable was the staff. Unfortunately this also happened when prices went up on the menu about a dollar per item. So it made it even harder to want to eat there as you couldn't guess whether it would be a good experience or a bad one. Also, lately i have noticed that the online ordering will be disabled just before busier times of the night, as if someone is trying to limit orders to stay less busy. I can see how that could be important if you cant staff the place to handle it, but it is obviously something that can be abused by lazy management, especially when it is disabled at 4 in the afternoon.
This is likely an issue not all the management knows about so I figured I should point it out here. I've worked fast food for probably 5 or more years and have seen what happens when a lazy manager or shift lead gets put in charge. Quality slips, but since they are in charge, no one finds out about it unless costumers or employees tell other management. I look forward to being able to change my review as I love their Sweet Buffalo Chicken. Also, bring back the old shrimp, the new smaller...
Read moreI ordered takeout. The chicken tenders were moist, and the coating was actually perfectly cooked. The only problem was there was no flavor there. Apparently they don't season the chicken or the batter they dip it in prior to frying. So that was a disappointment. My brother ordered the Chubby Cheesesteak (sandwich). He said it was really good, but the next morning he told me he was in the bathroom because it had messed with his digestive system. He was very philosophical about it, though, and admitted that this kind of thing just happens sometimes with restaurants. Everyone agreed that the beer battered fries were really good. Chubby's house fry sauce is one of the best in Utah, and their BBQ sauce is fantastic! I have been to this place twice now. The first time I went was with an old friend, and we ate in-house. I had the Pastrami Burger, and it was excellent! I don't remember what she had, but she said it was really good. We made the mistake of placing only one order of fries to split between us. Bottom line: I'll be going back again, and my brother will too, despite his unfortunate reaction to the Cheesesteak sandwich. I might ask them if it's possible to throw some kind of seasoning on the chicken before they cook it, though. If not, I won't be ordering it again. I don't want to pay for something just for the experience of chewing. I enjoy eating for the flavor, more than anything. If there is none, what's the point of paying for a meal? Overall, I recommend Chubby's, whether it's to eat in or...
Read moreI frequent Chubby’s. Love eating there since my first experience when the Saratoga Springs, Utah location opened. I have several food allergies and this is one restaurant that I know I can eat at and what I can eat. When I go I always order the same thing. Every location. This was my first time at this location. I ordered the 3 Piece Buffalo Tenders, sweet, a side salad that I leave only the tomato on and I cut up the chicken strips and put them on the salad. Then I order a side of the sauce the chicken is covered in and 2 small containers of blue cheese crumbles. I ordered as usual. This establishment was the first to charge me for the blue cheese but I didn’t mind I just paid for it and went and sat to visit with my friend. When the food came it came with 2 containers of blue cheese dressing. I went back and asked for the blue cheese crumbles. The girl behind the counter told me that they didn’t have those. IThat they were all mixed in with the dressing. I explained that I was charged for them as well as that I have ordered them at every other Chubby’s I’ve been to without problem. That’s when the other individual that was standing there who looked to be a manager of some sort looked at the girl and said,” Just give them to her. “ my issue is with lying to the customer after the first employee had already charged me for them. I’ll keep going to Chubby’s but the one will not get my business and I’ll make sure my friends are all aware of...
