There are a lot of places that now have the words "pancake house" in their name around the Quad Cities currently. Maybe I just hadn't been paying attention, maybe Google Maps helps make that reality easier to see. I'm betting on me just wasn't paying attention. At any rate, I felt the need to try one of these "pancake houses" and chose Jimmy's, as it is within a 5 minute drive of my home. I don't know what I expected upon walking into Jimmy's, but I can report that it's a good looking breakfast joint. There's counter seating to the right of the entrance, traditional booth and table seating for larger groups to the left, and a full view of the kitchen straight ahead. The walls are a light peachy color adorned upon which are pictures imitating windows looking out to what appears to be a tropical/coastal environment. Given the large world map near the entrance with a Greek flag prominently pinned upon it, I chose to interpret these vignettes as Mediterranean. The place was packed when I arrived - makes sense that there'd be a substantial Saturday morning breakfast crowd. Since it was available to me I took the counter seat right by the register. This allowed for a bit of relaxing people watching. Everyone coming in was pleasant - even with the 20-30 minute wait near constant the entire time. I opted for a hot black tea (the only tea available) and a Mexican skillet with scrambled eggs and sourdough toast. The eggs and toast were both great - light and fluffy with a textural contrast of the toast. I also enjoyed the skillet, but probably would order something else next time. The potatoes were cooked well and filling, but it was just a bit much for me in total. The chorizo, pepper jack cheese, and jalapenos added the necessary spicy and savory flavors I was craving that morning. The only thing a little off for me during my visit was the music playing. Not that I hate 90s pop or boy bands, but I suspect someone had a playlist of mostly NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys going for most of my visit. I was happy when this particular pseudo musical trend died and decidedly still don't prefer it, but it was playing at an appropriately quiet volume. As such, I'm not complaining...too much. I want to return sometime, but will probably choose a day not on the weekend - they were packed and constantly busy. Thanks for the great meal, Jimmy's!

Get down and boogie. The only and Best breakfast in quad cities! The service was over the top. Hello and good morning from every one as soon as you open the door. Or server Katelyn was the best and the others backed up each other. This is the way you run the front of the house. Your coffee cup will never go below half before a fill up or warm up. I had the vegie omelet with real eggs no powder or fake eggs here! I wanted to try their pancakes but the omelet was huge. All looked yome and everyone around was enjoying the food. Went mid week and no wait. I tell you it is worth the wait. So dont miss this quad city gem.

Glad we listened to the reviewers who love this place! Were told to expect a 10-15 minute wait, but were seated within 5 minutes. We ordered a cinnamon roll, which was HUGE! It was brought out before the main course. Wonderful! Husband ordered the Olé omelet. He enjoyed the jalapenos, which were hot enough he didn't need to add hot sauce. Salsa was excellent. I ordered eggs and corned beef. Also very good. Lots of food. Eggs ordered over medium were PERFECT! Hash browns were crispy and also excellent. Very fast service. We were in and out in under 45 minutes without feeling rushed. Wish we lived closer!

We went there today Sunday the 18th. We were Finishing up our breakfast.. A little older woman came in to see about getting a seat. The guy told her there's a wait you went to take her name. Told her he would text her she needed to go sit in her car. She said I don't have a phone. So then he told her she just gonna have to keep coming in and checking. She asked if she could sit in one of them chairs and a pretty much told her no. She said there's a sign there that says you can set. He said you can sit there but if we get busy you're gonna have to get-up-and-go out and get in your car. I asked to speak to the manager but he was in the back cooking. So one of the waitresses asked me what I can help you but I tried to explain her the situation she got very rude and smart mouth with me... She said she sick and tired of people coming in there every day and complaining about some... 1st of all I was not complaining I was trying to explain to her what happened... There was another couple with someone else in the booth with them they seen the whole thing they weren't happy with it.. As I was telling the waitress they were getting up to get ready to leave and they can even hear how she was being very rude and disrespectful... I told my husband we will no longer go back there we have been coming there for years and years... She said she didn't care and I said excuse me and again she said I don't care if you...

Stopped in here on a Sunday morning at 9:30am. Food was great, service was very quick and the waitress checked on us numerous times and was very pleasant. The reason I gave 3 stars and will evaluate whether this is a place that gets my return visit….When my wife and I arrived we told the hostess we would have 2 more people joining us and that we wanted a booth and she responded not a problem and it would be about a 10 minute wait. When they began seating people that arrived after us we were told by the hostess that it’s their policy to wait until everyone in your party arrives before seating. We were wanting to order coffee and wait for the rest of our party but told we couldn’t and that it was policy. Never have heard of that before. Thus, as stated previously, I would have to evaluate our situation as to whether I would patronize in the future. I’m pretty sure the Quad Cities Pancake House does not have such a policy. It feels like the owners try to rush people out as quick as possible to make room for others…which defines as “money is more important to them than the customer.” Sad, because the last time we came it was just the opposite. Oh well, plenty of other...
