Rudy's Tacos - Bettendorf — Restaurant in Pleasant Valley Township

Worst experience, ever. I really hate to give bad reviews unless it's needed, and I feel it's needed this time. My mom, ten month old daughter and I went here today. I ordered the lunch buffet with eager for $10.49 and my mom got an order of tacos and a soda. I got my TEN MONTH OLD daughter a tortilla, a little meat and some black olives. She didn't touch. Not one bit. She actually threw it on the ground (which I asked the waitress if I could have a broom or something so I could clean it up and she looked at the ground, looked irritated and then said it's fine she'll get it later, I picked up what I could of the food anyway.) So as I said, my daughter didn't eat any of the food. I figured since I got the $10.49 lunch buffet, I'd be okay to give her a little bit, too. I guess not because for that barely ONE little taco, we were charged $5.49!!!! For a kids one taco meal (which apparently includes fries and a drink, which we didn't get because we didn't order this meal. I only gave her some taco from the taco bar since I was getting it anyway).

I thought it was safe to assume that anywhere you go, most kids even under 5 eat free, and especially if they're under ONE year! I guess not here!!! The cashier did nothing about it when we brought it up. She just stopped talking to us. My mom called to speak to a manager and he says 'you have to understand that if she threw the taco on the floor, that's money down the drain for me.' I totally get that, but it wasn't even a full taco and I got the taco buffet anyway!! So it shouldn't have mattered.

Along with all of that, never was asked for a refill or anything. This is the worst service I've ever had, which sucks because we love Rudys! Not this one anymore! Thank goodness there's more...

A true QC institution. Tacos are great! I don't get here very often, but every now and then I have a craving for the hard shell tacos and I drive the two blocks to get my fix.

This night I walked in at around quarter till 8. Nobody else was dining and I could tell the three employees wanted to leave. As I started back out to my car I was assured they could get me some quick tacos though.

And quick they were. Delicious too. These are the sort of tacos that you probably grew up eating on taco night at home. Ground beef with lots of "taco" seasoning, lettuce, tomato, and "cheese". They're about as inauthentic as they come, but they sure are tasty.

The general atmosphere supports this sort of food too. The walls are a shade of yellow slightly lighter than the cheese on the tacos, the carpet is that thin sort some restaurants used to have 40 years ago, and the outside looks like stucco but maybe isn't? I don't know - I also don't care. The tacos are delicious and I'm coming when I want them.

Just to be clear, none of this is sarcastic. I legit like the tacos here. Just being abundantly clear on that point.

I look forward to my next kinda late night taco run to Rudy's. Thanks for continuing to be the iconic Quad Cities institution that you are Bettendorf Rudy's Tacos. I'll see...

I really wanted to give this place zero stars but that wasn't an option for my voice to be heard the place was disgustingly filthy the two girls one was an older lady one was a young girl that were supposed to be waiting on us I wasn't sure who was our waitress because half the time we had to go up and ask for stuff food didn't taste too alphabet but definitely not good like the other Rudy's restaurants behind the counter was filthy and disgusting as was from the looks of it the kitchen I definitely won't be back and would not recommend this place to anyone!! It's almost like we walked in sat down and they forgot we were there and acted like that was our problem seemed like we were burden to them I don't know we weren't the only ones in the restaurant!! I am also a server and bartender and if I ignored my customers the way we are ignored while we were there guarantee in my town it would not fly! Save your money not worth...
