Overhyped and overpriced!! Skip this place!!! Hands-down - NO RETURN. Nothing is fresh here! This place is no Mister Donut. Stopped in when they first opened Friday A.M. Donut was not fresh, cold to touch. Tasted like it was fried in oil that needed to be changed 5 days ago. I saw that they had taro milkshake, but wanted to make sure it was fresh (like TP Tea) so I asked. Owner confirmed it was so I ordered it. I took a sip, the drink was sour. The taro had spoiled!!! She asked if she can make me a new one to which I replied only if you have a new batch of FRESH taro. Owner said yes, as she pulls out a huge CAN of canned taro! When did canned taro become fresh taro???!?????? Seeing it was canned taro, NOT FRESH, I asked to change my drink. I took it and left since I was now running late to a meeting I had to log into. (She really took her time). While driving home, I tasted my new drink, and the mike was sour!!!!!! I should have asked for my money back. Waste of time and money!!! Whose writing all these fake reviews for this place?? And friendly owner??? Ha! What a joke. I've heard so much about these mochi donuts and thanks to Yelp's Elite event I was finally able to try them! The moment you walk into Mochiholic, you'll be greeted by the friendliest staff! Everyone here is so cheerful and helpful. It took only a few minutes to prep my order and I would have gladly waited longer for what they handed me - the cutest holiday box filled with 6 seasonally-decorated, mochi donuts. And, they were warm! The best part about Mochiholic, is that you'll receive your donuts fresh and made-to-order! Mochi donuts have a chewy texture that is best experienced when warm, but their freshness will last about 2 days. So YES, you can take them on that road trip. ;-) You'll also receive a cute holiday to-go box and you'll be supporting a local business.

The variety box was a great start for me, since it added some flavor variety. For those people who do not like very sweet desserts, the matcha and sesame flavor donuts might be a better choice. The Oji tea is a really nice choice as well. Even the sweeter flavors do not sit too heavy in your stomach. The donuts are light, but their consistency is not too airy, hence the chewy effect. After sampling each donut, I still felt like I could have a few more bites without hitting sugar-overload or feeling too full.

We normally drive here from Fremont, but it will definitely be our last. Mochi donuts are fine and I’m saying fine because unless you are promoting you do not get what you see. There has been many many times I have to request for the decoration that goes in the middle for many of the donuts. Most of the time it’s usually a decorated marshmallow, but it should absolutely not be something I request on the side. With someone with kids it’s a must that they look identical to what I’m looking at in your selection box.

Our last visit they ran out of an ingredient for a drink. They had us cancel and repurchase one drink. And instead of making the drink soon after (knowing we have been waiting over 15 minutes) we had to wait another 45 minutes for the drink to be made.
