The drinks were good, but overpriced. $18 for an old fashioned?! Come on...
Shrimp and grits were on the "shareable seafood" menu. Brought to the table with 3 shrimp, but there was 4 people at the table🤷🏼♀️
Corn ribs was an interesting take of corn on the cob, but the crema sauce wasn't all that tasty.
Corn "chowder" wasn't chowder at all. I would equate it to a can of corn in a bowl of milk.
The burger was good, but not good enough to justify $22.
Bucatini and meatballs were split between the parents. Both got 2 big meatballs in their dish, but the pasta served with it was laughably small. The restaurant cheaped out on the cheapest part of the dish!
Spent over $200 for 4 of us. Our waitress was fine, and the staff kept our glasses full and grabbed the dirty dishes fast. The live entertainment was nice. Some tweaking of menu items would go a long way (pasta portions, # of shrimp). Take the corn chowder off the menu, or completely fix it. Lower your burger price. I've had burgers all over Detroit, and this is NOT...
Read moreThey did a nice job renovating this building. It was more of a rebuild than a renovation actually. I think some of the decor is a little piecemeal. There is a gorgeous light fixture when you first walk into the dining area. Then there is an interesting sound-deadening wall on just one small wall. The lighting on the stage side of the restaurant is cool but does not quite go with the light fixture on the other half of the restaurant. But, that said, I am probably just being picky. I loved all of the windows and the light they let in, and it was also cool to see the trains passing but not hear them too loudly. Some quality control with attention to little details like food under the table and smudged glasses would go a long way. The service and food were excellent, though prices were a tad high. We do look forward to returning one night when there is live music. The bathrooms were really beautifully done, and the hall in the back...
Read moreA true gem in the heart of Old Village, Plymouth, Michigan. The decor brings eclectic and sociable energy to the environment. Different textures, colors, lighting, all makes Chicane even more unique. Comfortable seating, beautiful views, and an acoustically tuned dining room to where you can hear the conversation on your right while listening the band on your left. An excellent wine list was obviously, thoughtfully curated to pair with the delicate (or robust) flavors in every dish. The food coming out of the kitchen was perfection; beautifully plated, meticulously crafted, and promptly presented. Fresh, housemade pasta, high quality marbled steaks, fresh seafood, and bright and beautiful greens filled the plates (and my belly) with perfectly sized portions. I highly recommend slowing down into this Chicane, throw it in park, and cruise inside to enjoy an elevated dining experience that will not only satisfy, but keep you...
