Red Ryder has been a great addition to the Plymouth and Old Village dining scene since they opened (I feel bad that their Google rating is being pulled down by negative reviews for the old Honey Hole restaurant that was in there previously—ignore any reviews from prior to September ‘24). We’ve been there about 8 times in that span, and the food, drinks, service, and vibe have always been great. It can be hard to get in during the weekends, so reservations are a good idea on those nights. Their theme nights where they highlight certain types of music are fun, too. The menu gets updated pretty often, so there’s often something new to try if you’re a regular visitor. There’s been a couple of items we’ve really liked that have been taken off more recent menus (the mushroom flatbread and the fried clam strips, for example) and we hope those will return at some point in the future. After several visits, we have a couple of suggestions to make it even better.
First, it would be great to see more vegetarian and vegan options. There are some people we’d like to take to RR, but the current menu really doesn’t have any options outside of fries for vegans. Second, it would be nice if you could specify whether you want to sit at a table or the bar when you make a reservation (or leave the bar for walk-ins). But overall, they’re doing a great job, and it’s one of our favorite...

Service was slow. Waited probably 10 minutes before could put in drink orders and then we had been there 27 minutes before drinks arrived. I know, because we were getting impatient and looking at watches. Drinks were well made, but prices are not Plymouth, more like Washington or San Francisco. (Seems like all the newer places are jacking up prices. $15-$20 for cocktail in Plymouth?)
Our group ordered a wide variety of food, including appetizers, Fish and Chips, Red Ryder Burger, and grilled cheese. The educated Cabbage was definitely the highlight of the evening with raves all around. The Britney 'Spears' were disappointing, Soggy coating and unimpressive pickles. The grilled cheese received high marks, but both the fish and chips and Red Ryder Burger were described as "okay". Nothing that would say, "Can't wait to get that again." Oh yeah, bag frozen shoestring fries from GFS just don't cut it, especially when you can see the cook dumping them in a fryer.
I will say that it tasted like the meat and fish were high quality, but the end product...
