Scooter's Coffee — Restaurant in Plymouth

I should preface this by saying that I try my best to stay away from "Big Coffee", but if and when I am in a pinch or in a hurry I will often give in purely for the convenience factor.

Also, a quick note. If you're looking for a place to grab a latte and write a paper, work on school things, have a quick meeting, meet someone for a coffee date, etc., this is not your place. In fact, there literally is no place for you to do any of those things unless it's nice out, and you want to sit outside, because here there is only a drive thru, and I believe a walk up style window for when it it's nicer out. Which in my opinion is fantastic because I literally go out of my way to find places with a drive thru so I don't have to deal with going inside wearing my pretty pink pajamas.

That being said, if you are ever in a hurry, this particular location has your back. I don't think I've ever waited more than five minutes for anything that I have ordered here, regardless of the time of day. This place is just fast in general, and I often question how they're able to pretty much have my drink ready by the time I get to the window. I was starting to think they just have espresso shots pre-pulled and they would just add them to my drink and call it a day. I don't have any proof that is what is going on, and that doesn't seem very economical based upon the amount of things sold here that don't contain espresso, but I literally don't understand how things move so quickly here. I'm no stranger to visiting coffee places, and pretty much any other place I frequent takes considerably longer to produce my order than this place does. And it's not just this location, it's every Scooter's location that I've ever been to. At first I was suspicious, but now I've just accepted that if I go here I'll wait a fraction of the time for my order than I would at that place with the weird green sea witch.

I have been here quite a few times since it opened and I have only received the wrong drink once, which certainly isn't bad given the amount of times I am regularly given the wrong thing at other places. I get it, mistakes happen. In fact mistakes should happen because that is how we learn, and then hopefully make less of them. I didn't say anything when I received the wrong drink because I was already half way home when I took a drink and realized. I am confident that if I had said something, it would have been addressed and taken care of promptly though.

The employees here are also very friendly and professional on top of being extremely efficient and knowledgeable. There is nothing worse than asking a question about a product that someone is selling for them to know nothing about it. Any questions I have had about anything here have been met with accurate information almost immediately.

My only real complaint overall is the pricing. In my personal opinion it just really isn't on par with the quality of coffee you're getting, and perhaps that is personal preference, but I really feel that if I am being asked to pay premium prices, I should be getting a premium product in return. Don't get me wrong, there should to be multiple tiers of coffee to suit everyone's tastes, but the prices should also match those different tiers. I think we would all be up in arms if Speedway was charging five dollars for a cup of their black coffee. You see what I'm getting at here.

At the end of the day if you want a decent cup of coffee (or in my case a latte) and you're in a hurry, this place is a solid choice. Just remember you're going to be paying premium prices for...

My new favorite coffee shop. Awesome, super quick service with a smile! Why I love Scooters: -Great service with SMILES from everyone: All Scooters are drive thru only. There are outside tables at the Plymouth location that you can sit at outside to enjoy your food & drinks. They are super fast in preparing your order but they do not forget about great customer service while doing so- they are helpful if you have questions, they can customize your drinks & order to your specifications. And I have to mention again that EVERYONE who works there greets you with a smile and is super kind! You can tell it's a good company to work for with all those happy people. Great coffee: I've had their black coffee which is hot and flavorful, unlike the burnt taste you get at other places. Their matcha tea (hot and iced) is awesome. Great food: I had waffle sausage breakfast sandwich which was hot and tasty, the cinnamon roll which was great.

I was hoping this new place would be a gem, but “the coffee is subpar” is an understatement. It’s just not good, bland, unfortunately. They are a coffee shop with a drive thru, and they said it’d be a 7-minute wait for dark roast. The staff was friendly, however when we mentioned how crackly the drive-thru comm system was, they said it was because of the rain. Brand new place and it seems they have a few kinks to work out, and maybe should have contracted a better company for their outdoor-rated speaker. Worst part was, both my partner’s and my brewed coffee cups leaked hot coffee on us on the way home, him sipping and it coming out under the lid, dribbling on his shirt; me just holding it in front of me with the stopper in, extremely hot coffee leaking out, burning my hand. It looked like the lids were on all the way, so I’m not sure if the quality of the cups/lids if they leak like that. Tip: skip the place all together, and go get better...
