POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I only entered a 1 star because I had to enter something. I walked into the restaurant and there was a person sitting in the dining area and I greeting them not knowing whether or not they were the employee as they have been seated their on previous visits. She did not move so I looked behind the counter. There was someone there watching something on their phone. I know this because they only looked up when I spoke to them. Confused I asked "Are you guys serving food today?" She replied yes and went back to her phone so I gave a look of confusion and her look in return was as if to say "what do you want?" to which I replied, "well, I don't know what you have" while pointing to the covered trays. At that point I decided that I worked too hard for my money to have to pull teeth to spend it with this establishment.
UPDATE I saw something on Instagram that talked about how small businesses aren't given the same grace as your McDonalds, Burger King, or other fast food restaurants when they mess up our orders or provide poor service so I decided to give them another try.
I don't know if they are under new management/ownership however I am so happy that I went back. The service is so much better now. The woman, who seems to be the owner, greets me with the warmest smile, she is very welcoming, and she has let me try items before I made a decision. I've enjoyed the curry chicken and goat. I asked about the āspecial menu boardā and was told that it was only chicken on special. I ordered Oxtails that was posted on a regular menu chalkboard. There were menus on the counter to the right of the register so I took one to look at and when I looked at the menu it had Oxtails for lunch & dinner prices that were different then what was posted on the regular menu chalkboard. The lady who took my order didnāt mention. Terrible customer service. Most importantly, she didnāt give me my receipt to sign but she gave other customers their receipt to sign. Thatās unacceptable. She had a nervous disposition. Why? I could feel that something wasnāt right. I went back in the restaurant to see my receipt and to sign my receipt. The oxtails was very fatty and the taste was not there at all. The curry goat was very soft and fatty as well but again the flavor was bland. My husband was unable to eat all his food so he saved it for today. He tried warming up the food and it was spoiled after taking it out the fridge so obviously the food was never fresh. Fresh food donāt spoil overnight not even if you leave it out. I am never coming back to this place to eat. Iām from the Caribbean myself and wanted to try a new place to eat.
