Alright, let's talk about my local GameStop, and more specifically, about Joey. If you've ever walked into a GameStop and felt a bit overwhelmed, or maybe just unsure of what you're looking for, you know how crucial a good employee can be. And let me tell you, Joey is the good employee. He's the reason I keep coming back to this particular location. From the moment you step in, Joey's got that welcoming energy. He's not the kind of guy who's just going to stand behind the counter and wait for you to approach. He's actively engaged, scanning the store, ready to jump in and help. It's not pushy, it's genuine. He seems to genuinely enjoy what he does, and that enthusiasm is contagious. Now, let's get to the real meat of it: Joey's knowledge. This guy knows his stuff. We're talking deep cuts, obscure titles, hardware compatibility, the works. I've been a gamer for decades, and I'm still consistently impressed by his breadth of understanding. I've walked in with vague ideas, like "I'm looking for something like and he'll immediately rattle off a few options, explaining the pros and cons of each. He doesn't just push the latest releases; he actually listens to what you're interested in and tailors his recommendations accordingly. For example, a few months back, I was on the hunt for a new RPG. I'd played the big titles, and I was looking for something a bit different. I told Joey I wanted something with a compelling story and strategic combat, but I was tired of the typical fantasy setting. He didn't hesitate. He recommended a lesser-known indie title that I'd never even heard of. He explained the unique mechanics, the intriguing plot, and even warned me about a potential difficulty spike. I took his advice, and it turned out to be one of my favorite games of the year. That's the kind of personalized service you just don't get everywhere. It's not just his knowledge, though. It's his ability to explain things in a way that's easy to understand. He doesn't talk down to you, even if you're a casual gamer. He breaks down complex concepts into digestible chunks, making you feel confident in your purchase. He's patient, too. I've seen him spend a considerable amount of time helping older customers navigate unfamiliar technology, explaining pre-orders, or setting up accounts. He treats everyone with respect, regardless of their gaming experience. And let's not forget the friendliness. Joey is genuinely a nice guy. He remembers my name, asks about my previous purchases, and even remembers specific details about games we've discussed. He's not just a sales associate; he's a part of the gaming community. He's passionate about the hobby, and he loves sharing that passion with others. He's also great about pre-order advice. He keeps me updated on upcoming releases that I might be interested in, and he's always clear about the benefits of pre-ordering. He doesn't pressure you, but he makes sure you're aware of your options. He’s also the first person to tell me if a game I am excited for, looks to be a bit of a let down, based on early reviews he has seen. I really appreciate that honesty. In a world where customer service often feels impersonal and transactional, Joey stands out as a shining example of what it should be. He's knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely friendly. He's the kind of employee who makes you feel valued as a customer and as a member of the gaming community. If you're looking for a great GameStop experience, I highly recommend seeking out Joey. He's the real deal, and he's the reason I'll continue to be a loyal customer of this store. GameStop, you've got a gem of an employee in Joey, and you should do everything you can...
Read moreExtremely horrible service there is no customer satisfaction whatsoever and I don't know about all the employees there and that store but specifically two of them including a manager named Jessica!!!! And as a ex manager of a GameStop I can seriously tell you that they hire just about anybody especially if they hired this racist girl. Usually when I go to GameStop I spend from 200 to $500 in a day I'm one of the reasons this girl even has a job. I know usually if somebody has $100 bill or maybe even a $20 bill usually use you know check it with a pen if you're fun to my things down to make sure you know not counterfeit but for her to go and do it to the hundred-dollar bill but $20 bills the $5 bills hell even the one dollar bills to try to discourage me in front of my children and make me look like a so-called Thug when you yourself look like a crackhead and even denying me the right as a customer to try to return an item within the same day purchase 10 minutes before and another store really!!!! It's sad to see that EB Games also known as Gamestop now apparently hires racist just like this one. If you want to see a good GameStop with nice employees with friendly faces that make you feel like you're home and talk to you and enjoy your presence please go elsewhere I would recommend Winter Haven or anywhere else...
Read moreWorst Customer Service I’ve ever received at GameStop! I’ve been a Pro Member since 2011 and today made me want to null/void my membership from the experience I had. Walter the cashier was the rudest person that’s ever worked here, I walked in he asked if I needed help with anything, I told him “im okay thank you just gunna browse” when I said the he rolled his eyes at me. Then as I’m waiting to check out he is telling these people checking out about deals and if he wants to renew a membership or add one. Then when I got there he didn’t say a word to me, asked if I wanted insurance, nothing about promos or if I want to extend my membership or if I found everything okay. I get it’s Christmas time but this is just terrible. People like this don’t...
