Baron's Bagels - Point Pleasant — Restaurant in Point Pleasant

In town visiting a friend, and I was recommended to stop here for a vegan bagel. The bagel was fine but I am still shocked at the unprofessional and blatant attitude I received while ordering.

I ordered the vegan just egg sandwich, and the employee interrupted my order mid-sentence to tell me my sandwich would take 45 minutes. Genuinely confused about which part takes 45 minutes (because in my experience, a lot of places are still new to adding vegan items to their menu), I asked what part of the bagel takes so long to cook, to which she snapped, “Seriously? Do you see how many people are here waiting?”

I was honestly so thrown off by the quick and rude response, followed immediately by her glaring at me as though I just demanded she make my food first. Not every customer is looking for a fight, ma’am!! Just you! If you can’t simply be kind and watch your professionalism while under pressure, you definitely shouldn’t be in customer service.

Also, I’m sorry, but every bagel store in NJ has that large of a crowd and they still get their food out in 10 minutes so there is no reason I should have simply known that it would take an hour for you to cook something that literally takes 60 seconds on a skillet. There is also no acceptable reason why the man standing next to me should have placed his order online at 9am only to still be waiting for it at 10:40am.

6/2025 - update. I’ve tried many places since my last review. Everyone is different. I see complaints about a doughy bagel on town pages. I ONLY want a doughy bagel. I don’t want crispy, well done anything. I’m only talking about the bagel itself. To me, they have the best doughy bagels and I love them. Please don’t change this!! Not everyone wants a crispy, well done bagel. Thank you!

4/20/24 update - Adding a picture of the bacon I received. These were never separated. This is pretty lazy Baron’s Bagels! Impossible for us to take apart. Lowering the stars because no one would appreciate opening up bacon and seeing this.

1st review - Have to share this picture, and this bite! I love that your everything bagels have salt! Salt is included in the everything seasoning and SO many places omit the salt. This bite was crunchy, cooked perfectly and had a bite of all the seasonings (not just tons of poppy and garlic)! Thanks so much for this perfect bagel! So, this is the thing. I have been living down this way for a few years now. Originally I am from north NJ, much closer to Manhattan, and much closer to the Mecca of Bagel. Even central and southward, it is hard to find a NY style bagel. I thought I did find something close enough to it down here, and I was happy; felt lucky, living in the bliss that is ignorance. I was never going to try another bagel here. I found great bagels close enough -- until I randomly found Baron's on Google searching for bagels and decided to veer from the norm. First, the crowd here on a Sunday morning reminds me of the best bagel places from my hometown. Filled to absolute capacity, people squeezing in like sardines in a can. Instantly I knew this would be a winner. I got an onion bagel with scallion cream cheese and lox. Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa...I'm just going to say it.
