Point Creamery has Tainted ice cream that will make you Sick and a tainted reputation to match. My 1st visit to Point Creamery. Daughter got cotton candy flavor. It looked very soft and mushy when scooping. She wanted a cone but because it was so soft employee had to put in a cup with cone on top. Daughter barely ate any and said it didn't taste right it and was sour. I tasted it and it seemed a bit off. We went back inside and told worker she didn't like it, it tasted sour and wanted something else. I asked if it was supposed to be mushy like that and she said it was because it was a new container. I worked at Friendly's for 4 years, sometimes what is left over from old containers is put on top of new ice cream. They should've gotten rid of old stuff. They threw her ice cream in the garbage. We picked another flavor. Employee spoke to another employee, then they told me I have to PAY for the replacement ice cream. Out of the 3 times a week we get ice cream from Ritas, Diary Queen or other reputable stores, this is the first time she EVER returned something. I'm disappointed that they didn't swap out the flavor for her without charging us for an entire new cup and cone $4.21. What kind if business, especially one that serves Food, does not stand behind the quality of what they are serving? Should we eat food that doesn't taste right and get Sick? My daughter didn't even eat her 2nd cone because of the tainted experience. Now this morning her stomach hurt and her bowls were mint green color from the ice cream food coloring. Poor customer service and quality. I will not be returning. There are many other Ice Cream stores on that street that serve quality ice cream and have earned a great reputation. Point Creamery has Tainted ice cream and a trained...
Read moreHonestly, have lived here my entire life and this place has some of the best ice cream I’ve ever tried ANYWHERE. They claim it’s homemade and TASTES that way. Tried the blueberry pie ice cream which was INSANELY good. My fiancé, who is allergic to dairy, was so happy there is a place that not only serves two amazing flavors of vegan ice cream, but I tried some myself, and it’s probably in the top three best we’ve ever had! It’s very difficult to find places that serve anything but sorbet for vegans, so kudos to these guys for stepping up and delivering a quality product! I know it seems like Sundaes/Hoffman’s has a monopoly in this town, and I grew up on Sundaes, but I don’t think I’ll ever go anywhere but this place ever again. Also, “local guide” gave a review of this place and slammed it for failing to compete with the quality of Sundaes and-here’s the weird one...Rita’s?? I guess because Rita’s is across the street? I don’t know, seems like an apples and oranges comparison. Rita’s sells Italian ice, Point Creamery sells homemade ice cream. Anyway, give this place a shot, if you like great ice cream, you won’t be...
Read moreService was very efficient and friendly and the place is kept clean and organized, but the consistency of the hard ice cream itself wasn't anything special - not particularly rich or creamy, pretty basic. We tried three flavors: cannoli, strawberry cheesecake, and lemon pie.
The cannoli flavor was extremely subtle and lacked depth. The strawberry cheesecake had actual cake add-ins, more like you'd expect with a strawberry shortcake flavor, and the strawberry was very sweet & artificial tasting - kind of syrupy. The lemon pie had some pie crust mix-ins, but those were very dry and crumbly and disintegrated quickly as the ice cream began to melt. The lemon flavor was very sweet as well, I was expecting something a bit more bright, light and tart.
Honestly none of it was bad, everything was "just okay", but when considering the price point and the abundance of other nearby options, it was underwhelming and I doubt I'll be back. It's just not my taste/preference. They do have a fair selection of vegan options though, if you're looking for that -- might be worth giving...
