I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN! Basically the owner started cursing and flipping out and decided to close the restaurant on us... all because we wanted to have more elbow-space at the table (we asked to have another table moved to ours) when the entire restaurant only had TWO people in it, due to the blizzard.
Last night we decided to go to Graziano's for my mom's birthday. It was the beginning of the blizzard, but the restaurant was still open - although there was only one other table inside the dining room. My mom, step-dad, and myself met my sister and brother-in-law there. We were slightly cramped at the small table because we had brought a bottle of wine and birthday gifts. Since the restaurant was dead because no one wanted to come out with the blizzard, we politely asked the waitress if we could move another table over, so we weren't so squished. She hesitated and explained that normally this is something that could never be done, but since it was such a slow night she figured she could give us this one time deal. We were very appreciative and completely understanding, and explained that we would never ask to take away a table during a busy night. About 2 minutes later, the waitress returns and tells us she has to move the table back because she just got reamed out by the owner for moving over a small table (which we later found out was her brother). We all thought she was joking, and my sister thought we were on a hidden camera show! But no, she wasn't joking at all, and kept apologizing. The hostess and another waitress came over to apologize as well, because they could see that we were in shock over something so small as moving a table - especially when the place was so slow. My mother asked to speak to the owner, and he refused to speak to us. Instead he sent out the hostess with the birthday cake my sister brought in. [The owner knew that we were there for a special occasion and still didn't care.] After the cake was brought out, all we heard was yelling and screaming coming from the kitchen, and then he started cursing too (Who the f* do they think they are? This is my f** restaurant! and more). That was when all five of us decided to get up and leave, when we heard the other waitress say that he decided to shut down the restaurant for tonight (it was 5:30pm btw). As we headed out the door in disgust of his manner, all the waitresses and the hostess kept apologizing to us. As we got in our car we saw that the lights in the restaurant were shut off...... there was still two people in there!
I've working in the restaurant industry for over 10 years and I have never seen anything as ridiculous as this before. Sure, they might have great food, and great wait staff..... but NONE of us will ever return there because of how the owner, Marcello, treats his family, wait staff, and CUSTOMERS!
Please share with anyone you know...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNEW UPDATEš„ We are LOVING Grazianos again! SO SO HAPPY. IDK WHAT HAS CHANGED. BUT THE FOOD has been great the last few times. As always the service is also great. So happy to have my favorite little Italian restaurant backāŗļøš
Update since reply from Grazianos directly: If I ask to speak to an owner then I become "that" woman. Your service people KNOW what to do in such a situation. She did go into the back and spoke with others. Why is it MY responsibility to get it right after it was SO wrong?
Given that you actually read the reviews and care about them. Definitely makes me want to give you another chance! Why would I WANT to dislike Grazianos? NEVER! The piece of cheesecake (that's famous around here) she gave me in place was AMAZING, AS IT ALWAYS IS.. Thank you for having the BEST cheesecake in town. Aside from my own pumpkinš ā¤ļø
Oh how fast this long running family place has fallen! It's very sad. I've tried multiple times to give them another shot. Well the other night sealed the deal for me. Got take out as they are close to home. Ordered Penne Ala vodka with grilled chicken and a tiramasu for dessert. Now mind you I've been eating there for 20yrs. Even had my engagement dinner there. The vodka sauce was simply NOT vodka sauce. It was like a watered down version with thick chunks of tomatoes. Very different than normal. Not unedible just not their true vodka sauce. The salad was actually brownš. Later on I went to eat the dessert. I put a whole mouth full in and went running to the sink. You get the picture. After brushing my teeth etc. I went back to smell it and almost 𤮠up!! I went back the next night to tell them what had happened. They didn't seem like this was the first they heard this. Again, very sad. She asked what would I like. Another one or my money back. Idk it didn't feel like they really cared that they're serving up rotten food. Sadly no more Grazianos for us. Which is truly heartbreaking if you knew how...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFood is fantastic. Only reason I gave 4 stars is because they are hard to reach sometimes when placing a to-go order. But I highly recommend.
Update: was back in the area yesterday after 4 years so my family and I stopped for dinner. What happened in the past 4 years? The place was a ghost town. Also somethings have changed and not for the better. My 6 year old wanted the kids pasta with vodka sauce so I asked to swap out the tomato sauce for vodka and was told No I would have to buy an adult dish. Seriously?!?! You can't just put a different sauce on it? Second I denied the salad and asked for a soup instead. I told the waitress I would gladly pay an upcharge and I was told No again and I would have to pay full price for the soup even though I wasn't getting a salad. The waitress was nice but definatly not accommodating nor did she have any type of personality. Needless to say and it's a real shame but I will not be returning again. Lots of other options in the area with better trained staff that are more pleasant and better bang for the buck. The portions are extremely small now. Our waitress killed the whole experience. I have also downgraded my 4 star rating to a 3 star...
