First time there. My experience was basically same as others. No idea how this place has rating over 4. As a pretty well traveled foodie, i have learned food quality is most important aspect and good food can overpower poor service easily. The point of separation is whether the service affects the food quality. Customer service not pleasant. Girl works in donut shop in area of country where people are very nice, pleasant and not difficult. Have no idea why this woman chose this profession. If you cant handle donut customer service in this area, you are definitely the wrong profession. I am guessing she is a family/obligated hire. Smiling is not a requirement, heck she prob has to be there at like 5am. But her service is so bad it actually affects the food service. I had a 3yr old in tow and was first visit. Its her donut place but she got the wrong items couple times and i had to catch it. I had heard good things about the food but unfortunately her personal service challenges affected the food service. She put the entire order stuffed into paper bags, not boxes. No way to really verify the order correct. When i arrived home, the filled donuts leaked into the bag and the frosted donuts had been placed with the frosting pressed against the side of the bag so it had basically been wiped off on the side of the bag. So spent some money , even tipped and never even got to try the food. The impression is they dont make the stuff there and have found a good import source because i cant imagine why anybody would take the time and effort to make great food to entice/ keep customers then throw away all that work because they were too lazy to pull out a box. So unfortunately the food wasnt able to help bump up their review and their review is entirely based on customer service, not something working in their favor. This place probably wouldnt survive anywhere else in the country. I think the only thing keeping them operating here even is their search engine...
Read moreMy favorite donutes of all time are Misses in Guthrie, OK. If you have never been its absolutely worth the drive from anywhere in the state to check out. I have to admitt I am biased towards my favorite place BUT.... The Donut Palace located in Ponca City is really great. Thier prices are on par with others as well. My reason for leaving them this awesome review though is because of thier apple fritters and fried cinnammon rolls. Both are absolutely awesome. The apple fritters are huge and are made with real pieces of apple! I couldn't tell you how many donute shops I have been to who have zero pieces of apple on their apple fritters. And you can tell thier fried cinnammon rolls are dropped into the iceing the very second they pull them from the frier. They simply melt in your mouth. Ok so I'm gaining wieght just thinking about them but if one only visits for the fried cinnammon rolls and apple fritters, well life could be worse. One last thing is from what I understand Donut Palace is a franchise and I have only been the Ponca City location. So your results may very depending on other locations however the Ponca City location has always been good every visit...
Read moreBig orders beware! On 06.03.2021 I ordered about $60 worth of donuts for my guys as I do each month and a receipt was given to me that I could not read. No one asked for a signature they just gave me the donuts and a receipt. I didn't think much of it. But when I checked my card the next day I found the employee had added a $15 tip for themselves! I'm betting if they did that to me, they are also doing that for other big orders and not telling people. Needless to say, I will never go there again so that $15 tip cost them around $600 worth...
